  1. It would be pretty silly if the suspicions about Sosa were linked to Baker.
  2. I would think Z, Lilly and Dempster all fall under the "semi-big" tag, which is why this has me a little nervous, though I'm leaning to Z definitely not being it. I think the perception, for better or for worse, around baseball is generally that he's a "big name" because he's the de facto ace of the team.
  3. Enough of this. Let's get to talking about Noah's pimpness. Dude talks crazy [expletive] before the game and then goes out and dominates. Easily my favorite Chicago athlete these days.
  4. Yeah, "trying for a home run" isn't a problem since that's inherent to his approach as a hitter. When he's on he's still just up there trying to clobber everything.
  5. True. It would be one thing if it seemed like his timing was off, but he's basically just flailing at everything thrown his way.
  6. Sadly, I really don't see Lou getting fired. The really doesn't see a negative perception of him from the majority of the fan base, nor is there much questioning or criticism of him from the media.
  7. I think some people are being a little too defensive. The Cardinals fans that post here are, by and large, respectful non-trolls and are actually pretty cool.
  8. Wait, what? You're basically the only one going off on repeated McGwire rants here. Quit pretending like it's something that everyone else is doing, too.
  9. Cubs win the next 3 games. PRINT IT.
  10. He's had Aprils where he's started slow, so this is frustrating but not really all that surprising. I don't see why it's necessary to accuse him of a "phantom injury." Why is it so unlikely that he actually was injured (especially since he has a relatively extensive injury history), and as such missed a lot of spring training and is off to a slow start at least partly because of that?
  11. Sweet, that'll likely make Lou feel vindicated for his inexplicable defensive switches of Soto for Hill.
  12. Wait, are you complaining about the off the wall play? Why?
  13. The bullpen is the least of their worries if the offense continues looking as anemic as they did last year.
  14. I can only assume we will not see Russell for another week or so because of the "doghouse."
  15. I think Byrd has played better than his numbers show, I really do. What, OBP-wise? How? I'm not slamming the guy for it per se; more pointing out how ridiculous it is for him to be leading off.
  16. Nice job, Byrd. Please bat him #2 from now on.
  17. Man, it's crazy how moving one of the few guys who has been driving runs in to the leadoff spot hasn't worked out. Weird.
  18. The ump's been consistent with it, but those chest-high strikes never fail to be ridiculous.
  19. That's a very blase idea of "freaking out." Man.
  20. I don't think you know what "freaked out" actually means.
  21. Yeah, I don't know why Jersey thinks everyone is just complaining about Theriot being moved.
  22. I'm a little weirded out that you like this.
