  1. Who was the last one? I honestly can't remember. http://www.bearshistory.com/images/waddlecard.jpg
  2. No kidding. I don't think for a second the Bears would sign Moss if they could, but it's frustrating to hear that mentality parroted in the press.
  3. It is sadly hilarious that he'll get into trouble over this.
  4. He may have been barely holding on to decent status at the time. He'd be terrible now. WHOA, BOLD PREDICTION.
  5. No, you're being ridiculous. There's nobody here that wouldn't want Anthony if it meant that the Bulls were also able to pick up a decent center.
  6. This [expletive] rules.
  7. LeBron is going to have to be "the guy" just from the injury time Wade is going to be racking up.
  8. That has already happened. Attendance was only down about 100,000 this year (and roughly 650 people per game). That followed a roughly 130,000 decrease from 2008-2009. Attendance has been down all around baseball though, so I wonder how much the decline varies from the rest of the league. They were still 4th in the NL, which is where they almost always are. Tickets sold in February based on people hoping they'd bounce back from an 83 win season and actually contend isn't the same as how many people actually showed up to games and spent money on beer, food and merchandise. Right. What we saw was a very clear step towards less people actually buying those tickets before the season starts. I highly doubt that the Ricketts are just going to sit around and wait until the team is drawing and selling crappily before doing anything.
  9. Yes, which is why makes much more sense that a business-oriented group of owners would look to head that off at the pass instead of digging an even deeper hole by waiting until you're seeing very empty games with tons of unsold tickets.
  10. Seems so pointless to go for a 4th OF when they already have Colvin. Also pointless to look for a reliever when they have so many arms in the farm that could be useful. It's not even like there are very "good" relievers out there that they should be spending money on.
  11. So we're going with the "complete morons" option.
  12. Right. Unless they're just complete morons I can't see why they wouldn't be looking to pre-emptively avoid a mostly empty Wrigley when possible.
  13. No, what makes no sense to me is the idea that year after year of poor ticket sales will suddenly at some point spur the owners to spend more money.
  14. Yup. Makes absolutely no sense.
  15. The WS should be going within 3 days after the LCS end, this is ridiculous. And 2-2-1-1-1 seems like it has the ability to stretch out series way too long as well.
  16. It's actually the complete opposite.
  17. Eh, [expletive] it. There's basically zero chance they can put together a team to actually take advantage of Cutler's talent any time soon, so they might as well take him down with the ship.
  18. it didn't help that Manumaleuna just let the guy go and sack cutler but he was just standing there in the tucked position waiting to get sacked, just waiting. any other quarterback is throwing that away or actually finding someone downfield. the quarterback of the bears however, is looking to take a sack. The Bears have sucked the life out of him.
  19. That Phillies/Rays WS was even more lower rated than the White Sox/Astros one, so I don't think you can lump the Phillies in with teams that are actually big national draws.
  20. I'm idly curious as to which matchups end up drawing in more viewers when the Red Sox or the NYC teams aren't involved.
  21. Yeah, the White Sox/Astros one was the lowest rated of all time, but all of the next ones dipped below that until the Yanks and Phillies last year.
  22. I kind of hope the Cubs win myself. Get outta here with that crap.
  23. Dammit, why must you be made of gloom?
