  1. The sad thing is I've heard a few different radio hosts/callers complain that his numbers are "soft." And of course, that he's "only good in April" and that he's "way/vastly/significantly/etc. overpaid." What on earth does that even mean? Are they imaginary hits, or something? That since he's not hitting for much power so far it's like his walks and hits somehow aren't as impressive. Even though he's mostly been leading off. I don't know, sports radio is just so dumb.

  3. Cincinnati chili when made with "regular" chili is amazing, especially when just buried with cheese and onions and beans and sour cream.
  4. its the part Asian in them Rob Schneider is part Asian? I guess that makes some of his roles slightly less minstrel show-y. Slightly.
  5. So this presumably makes it unlikely that they'll be able to drop a big contract on someone like Kemp after his current deal is up at the end of the 2012 season, right?
  6. Heh, so it happens other places as well besides here. Pathetic Hey, Keener, why don't you explain to everyone what you're complaining about here.
  7. Christ, I am getting killed by the gruesome twosomes I have from the Cubs and Red Sox. And Adam Dunn's appendix. I'm confident that A-Gon, Crawford, Aramis and Dunn will all clobber a ton of knocks (Pena, probably, but who knows), but man, this is brutal right now.
  8. And our setup/closer situation is probably elite while mateo might be "promising," his results as a major league pitcher have not been solid or better. nor has russell, whose decent 1.3 WHIP is damaged by the 11 home runs allowed in 52 innings. it would be more accurate to say that mateo has been lousy and russell has been solid against LH batters while throwing batting practice to RH batters. Yes, congratulations, you've realized that Russell is a LOOGY. Going into yesterday Mateo's numbers were very, very good and not "lousy" at all. Obviously, his appearance yesterday wasn't ideal, but it was exacerbated by a cheap infield single, not getting an obvious strike 3 call and a bloop single being bumbled by Fukudome into a double that put guys on 2nd and 3rd with no outs. To then come back and be only a strike away from getting out of that just emphasizes what had been seen from Mateo so far this year and shows how useful he can be. Relievers aren't going to be perfect, and yesterday's outcome was far from perfect, but to just label the bullpen as useless junk outside of Marshall and Wood and Marmol is incorrect. It's a good bullpen being exposed too much due to the starters struggling to go 5-6 innings almost every game so far this season.
  9. Clown shoes as usual. It's ok, it'd been awhile since a favored team was down by double digits and came back to win a playoff game. No way you could've seen that coming. Make sure you thank the refs You're a child. you got part of that right http://i.neoseeker.com/mgv/200086-jbh/86/25/applause_display.gif
  10. Russell's been good in relief. Mateo's been very promising. Having 5 solid or better guys in a bullpen is something most teams would kill for, so you're wrong now.
  11. The only other viable options are Geovany Soto, and the Cubs never like batting him earlier than 6th, or cloning Starlin Castro and we havnt perfected that kind of technology yet. So bat Soriano there right now.
  12. Seriously, go [expletive] yourself. Your posts are insanely stupid. personal attack much? "Attack the argument, not the poster" is dead, buried, and decomposed. Bull [expletive]. I only attacked the posts. The first part was an instruction for self-improvement.
  13. Didn't they dig up some triceratops fossils when constructing the stadium? RARGH. FRUSTRATION. Such a winnable game.
  14. In my pants. Now that is well done. Horrifying, but well done.
  15. Byrd is lurking, which dampens my spirit.
  16. What, did that weak-ass "attack the post and not the poster" [expletive] go flying out the window? I'm abiding by that garbage.
  17. Seriously, go [expletive] yourself. Your posts are insanely stupid. personal attack much? Nope. Just your moronic posts.
  18. Seriously, go [expletive] yourself. Your posts are insanely stupid.
  19. I guess... although look who they pitched in games 2 and 3. And they hit both of them.
  20. That's what happen when you need 4 outs to get out of the inning.
  21. it's amazing how quickly a guy can go from middle of the order terror to washed up. CASE CLOSED.
