  1. Yeah, went to the scoreboard to see what time tonight they were playing and saw it was the 8th inning. How many weekday day games do the Dodgers play? I totally assumed this was another night game. What the funk.
  2. I certainly hope he didn't, but April was about as abysmal as it gets. Yes, but that's April. And even if Berkman ends up having a much better year it's ridiculous to act like this was some kind of huge mistake at the time of the signing out of anything other than the benefit of hindsight, when it's not something that could have been argued definitively when both were available as FA.
  3. You're twisting this for a really torturous conclusion, mainly because we have no idea yet whether or not Hendry got "burned" on signing Pena over Berkman and because we don't know whether the main factor of signing Pena over Berkman was him being a lefty.
  4. Right: more pitches outside, more offspeed pitches. This is going to be a key period of adjustment for him since most teams are likely going to have realized he's a fastball-murderin' machine.
  5. Eyeballing it, no, he seems to be mostly weakly grounding out and popping out during this slump.
  6. Yeah, Aramis' numbers aren't very impressive at all given his role on the team.
  7. Sah-weet. Nice win! Go for the winning road trip tomorrow.
  8. Wow, Soto very well may have been dead at the plate if that wasn't cut off.
  9. Really was expecting Kemp to lay out for that one.
  10. Broxton is so red. Must be that healthy Kenny Powers-esque physique. Jesus, how did Aramis do nothing with those first two pitches?
  11. Yeah, I'd have no problem paying big for Wright.
  12. Teams seem to have realize that he's going to be able to attack prety much any fastball you send his away so they're giving him a lot more offspeed stuff. Definitely going to be a big period of adjustment, and it would be nice if Quade quit dicking him around and just left him in the #2 spot.
  13. What? No way. The rookie of the month or whatever the [expletive] was up next. Clearly that's proof that Darwin Barney is the guy that gets [expletive] done and will forever. When is the rookie of the month press conference? Right after the "batting Starlin Castro 3rd makes Mike Quade the Manager of the Universe for Life" press conference.

  15. an expiring contract? this isn't the nba. Wouldn't that potentially have some appeal to a team in serious financial trouble? not really, if they're in financial trouble then just trade wright for a bunch of prospects. how does paying aramis ramirez to underproduce for $10 million and then leave make any sense to a terrible team like the mets? Because they're a terrible team like the Mets. I mean, I'm figuring the Cubs would make prospects the focus of the deal anyway. Throw Aramis and some money in there for the hell of it since he and Wright effectively negate each other, unless they could trick the Mets into taking Pena and his money for next year instead.
  16. I'm not even sure Blake Dewitt exists anymore... but hey, it actually worked. DeWitt got a PH last night.
  17. Annnnnnnnnnd of course it works out. [expletive] YOU, BALDY.
  18. Annnnnnnnnnnnd he promptly sends Johnson out to PH against a rightie. Brilliant.
