I think I have to follow through with this Len thing; the last time I made such a pledge it was promising to go to church every week if the Cubs won a game in 2008. Well, that game turned out to be the Aramis walkoff homer against Milwaukee and the whole going to church thing lasted about two weeks before I gave up and everything's been awful since.

Some fat chef bragging about how he knows nothing about baseball and then being all obnoxious about his muffins and how he fries his steaks. All the more reason to stop with the celebrity/free-advertising guest conductors for the 7th inning stretch. I don't mind it most of the time. Most seem thrilled to be up there and even if it's a trainwreck it's an entertaining one. This guy was just bad.

Nah; if the half inning after the stretch is dragging they'll often allow/encourage (politely) the guest to leave. Sounds like Len & Bob just took advantage of the commercial break for the pitching change and ushered him out diplomatically. they almost always (or maybe always) do that with a pitching change. Recently there was somebody who I thought wasn't bad who they got rid of in a hurry. They did it with Dennehy yesterday; no pitching change, but the inning was longer than expected so they thanked him and set him on his way before it was done.

He's flirting with a .700 OPS, and going into today he was on pace for a 2.7 fWAR season. Bueno bueno. They should totally bench DeJesus.

Yeah, I just viewed his splits. Still, I think the best players should play regardless of what hand the pitcher throws with, outside of scheduled off-days every now and then. Especially when LaHair had his best game yesterday in the past 2 weeks and, it's not like Baker is really hitting anyone this year. Why, if the splits indicate that the batter is horrible against certain handed pitchers? B/c your other option is Jeff Baker, who isnt hitting anybody right now. I'll take my chances with the better player. Baker is still the better hitter against lefties.

I hate this mostly righty lineup that gets featured vs lefty starters. LaHair finally got back on track and Stewart had a nice day at the plate yesterday...and what is their reward? Sit the next day. Yeah, that will help them stay hot at the plate! Stewart I kind of agree with despite having less experience against lefties; LaHair, on the other hand, is just horrible against them.
