  1. there is nothing to like in either. valbuena's value? he's cheaper. So what? They're both on the team. Incorrect. Nobody here is a "huge backer of Stewart." There's a huge difference between explaining how you can look at a player/countering hyperbole and being some kind of superfan. I'm wrong all the time; the FO is far from infallable. My point is, and has been, is that arguing whether the Cubs or Rockies "won" between Ian Stewart and Tyler Colvin is nearly meaningless. Now I see what MSG-T was saying when it was like your post was written by two different people; so you DO agree with me? OK, good so far (though saying Colvin and Stewart were similarly "highly regarded" is a HUGE stretch)... ...wait, what? Why wouldn't they see what he can do after his surgery? It's not like they have anyone beating down the door at 3B. Good...point? Man, this was a schizo post.
  2. It's gonna happen. Don't worry your darling little heads.
  3. In the age of Twitter, it probably wouldn't hurt to be a little more pragmatic. It's not hurting anything as is. Not yet, anyway. Again, read your sig.
  4. What the hell are you even complaining about? He hasn't refused the trade, it's very unlikely he refuses the trade; why would this bother anyone? How is it not "pragmatic" for the guy to be annoyed that the whole thing came out like this?
  5. Are people seriously bothered by the guy wanting to hear this from his boss instead of the way it came out?
  6. Lee didn't want to be traded and refused a trade...Dempster is OK with a trade, but is annoyed/hurt/whatever that he heard it via the media instead of from his FO first.
  7. Wait, I just looked it up; he out and out refused a trade. Dempster hasn't refused a trade.
  8. I honestly don't remember the Lee thing at all; someone please refresh us.
  9. Blindsided? He's been on the block for over a month. This was his 2nd choice. Just 3-4 days ago a trade with The Dodgers was supposedly near completion. How much less blindsided could he have possibly been? Just because you act like this is a video game doesn't mean it actually is.
  10. In the year two thousand.... In the year two thousaaaaaand Excellent.
  11. He hasn't had an extra day off in 21 games (though he had the ASB). I don't think we need to worry.
  12. Awesome pitching, Batman & Robin...Cubs win!
  13. We were comparing Stewart's "good month" to Valbuena's "good month" simply because I'm wondering what people who think Stewart is a "bum" see in Valbuena. I don't really have anything against either player; they've both been rather middling this year. Nobody's actually picking sides between the two except for idiots. And their salaries are irrelevant.
