  1. Fujikawa to Russell to Gregg. Let's clone these guys and throw everyone else in the bullpen into the lake.
  2. Uh, Castillo is excellent when it comes to throwing.
  3. I don't know if I love or hate that I feel fine with Kevin Gregg closing this game.
  4. I loved how it worked out, by my first response was a very Vadar-ian "NOOOOOOoooooo...."
  5. SWEEEEEEEEEEEEENEY. I will fight you! OK, NEVERMIND, IT'S ALRIGHT.
  6. If they screw this up I will...sit and sulk.
  7. Meanwhile Matt Kemp is playing like his bat is made out of solidified farts.
  8. i was watching that plate appearance and thinking how crazy it is that he's almost the same age as baez Watching guys like him and Trout is just fun.
  9. FINISH THEM, RIZZO. Finish them and we will supply you with wenches to ply you with meats and scented oils.
  10. Big time. Though at least Feldman had another nice start.
  11. Gee, I wonder if they'll be no-hit today. No, of course not. That would be silly.
  12. Alright, my dad is actually at this game as part of his birthday celebration; he's probably going insane. That said, nearly every pitch they've taken has been a strike. [expletive] this guy.
  13. Time for a change... http://www.paulduane.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/06/DEVIL-HORNS.png_thumb.jpg
  14. The guy was throwing strikes; it's not like you just take pitches to take pitches if the guy is putting them in the zone. Plus it's the top of the first, so it's not like they had to give Feldman a break or anything. Yes you do, sometimes. You don't just swing at any first pitch strike. That's not a good approach. What? Of course you can swing at a first pitch strike if you think you have something to hit. Yeah, I didn't say you can't. The problem is some (lots - historically) of our players think they have something to hit way too often. Which creates this self-fulling prophecy-mentality that seems to assume that swinging early = automatically bad and taking pitches = automatically good. If the first pitch is there and you think you can hit it, great, take a shot. Taking it just to take it isn't always the right choice. My dad has become pitch count-obsessed lately and he's even bothered if the Cubs have a GOOD inning and they don't make the opposing pitcher throw more than 20 pitches (and at least 15). It's pretty amusing.
