  1. Kevin Gregg will not tolerate incompetence.
  2. In 35 games so far this year he has struck out 14 times. In his first 47 games last year he struck out 20 times. He also walked 12 times in those 47 games in 2012 while he has already walked 13 times this season in 35 games.
  3. Do you actually try to think up things to say like this? Nothing wrong with platoons in theory but Hairston/Ransom are not cutting it. Also, DeJesus should probably be playing at least some guys for his plate approach alone. So your theory is that some guys will defy their career-long splits for the rest of the season while others have no chance that they'll sniff their career-long splits...juuuuuusssssssst because, I guess. Seems like a sound conclusion. Plus Ransom isn't "cutting it" against lefties with his .263 .300 .605 .905 line? Man, you have got some tough standards.
  4. Do you actually try to think up things to say like this?
  5. So? Have you seen the rosters he's worked with? His management of the bullpen is as bad as Dusty's management of the starting rotation. Sveum is a moron when it comes to that. Even being generous with assuming the bullpen "should" have won a bunch of the games they've blown that makes the record, what, soemthing like 90-117?
  6. I wonder if knowing that the exact phrase "the will to win" is in Moneyball would cause Hawk to have a stroke or something.
  7. Yeah, those stupid girls, man. Bitches always be shopping, amirite?
  8. What does PF have to do with height? It has more to do with weight than anything, or the shape of the arch of your foot. You're right in that some of these guys come with injury issues, but you weigh that risk against getting a dominant big man. They can still be insanely valuable even if they miss more time than most smaller players. I guess in the future it would be better to clarify your own point instead of seemingly piggybacking onto something as definitive as basically saying "don't draft guys who are seven footers in the first round."
  9. No, I said it seems like you're dancing around the idea that you need to be more wary about or even actively avoid seven footers. Then I made the point that you're going to have a ton of busts across the board in the first round regardless of player height. Look, why don't you just explain why you felt the need to post the list in the first place; it sure seems like you were supporting the original idea that seven footers should be avoided in the first round.
  10. Where di I say that draft busts are exclusive to big men? I don't know. I also don't know where I said that in the post you just quoted.
  11. There's a ton of mediocre players drafted all the damn time because they're just whatever. You're still seemingly dancing around the idea that guys who are seven footers need to be approached with more caution or avoided more often instead of just recognizing that busts are going to happen a lot with players of all types and the original idea that avoiding seven footers as a "rule of thumb" is a bad idea.
  12. Except Russell. NEVER SEND RUSSELL OUT AGAIN. Hell, he's lucky to even get to record three outs.
  13. Well, now it's 3 runs with one inning to go. Perfect Rondon time. Dale Sveum: master of the self-fulfilling prophecy.
  14. Rondon should be pure mop-up duty. No more. It feels like how awful he's been has gone somewhat unnoticed. It really is baffling how often guys like him and Camp were inserted into key spots over Russell, Fujikawa and now Villanueva.
  15. And why the [expletive] is Rondon still in there? Does he even have anyone else up?
  16. Why the hell can't they find a manager who can manage a bullpen? Everyone knows there's a bunch of garbage down there, but Dale seemingly goes out of his way to make it worse.
  17. Sure, set it up so Russell can only face two batters but get Rondon into a second inning! Brilliant.
  18. Sweet, Dale able to once again use Russell for less than an inning. And against their 7-8 hitters, too!
  19. To be fair, Arroyo wasn't going to dick around after walking two and facing Barney with two outs and the pitcher behind him. Unless he had just lost control he was going to be throwing strikes.
