  2. This was outstanding. That's awesome, but at the same time, Rodriguez didn't really do anything bad. Seems like Cashman just lost his marbles. I looked at that A-Rod tweet, which said "Just got the best news, Dr. Kelly cleared me to play games again!" or something to that effect and I was half expecting the Instagram photo to be of him playing XBox or something. Nope, just him talking to a doctor who gave him good news and he was excited about it. Apparently Cashman couldn't handle that because he wasn't cleared by Yankee doctors and he lost his [expletive]. Yeah, I kept looking for more to the story because I figured there'd be ARod doing something typically ARod-ish but couldn't find it. That should have been the response to Stewart's tweets, not ARod's.
  3. This offseason is off to a really terrible start. BE LESS TERRIBLE, RUMORS.
  4. The Hooner filled in for the injured K Jax. The I Cub OF now consists of Hooner, Sappy, and Darnell "Not Good Enough for Even an Awful Nickname" McDonald. My guess is that Ty "He's Still Here?" Wright will take over, but who knows. Again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4cBRJXSNso
  5. lol wtf was beckham doing on that play? idiot. would love to hear hawk's call of that play. and here it is: http://www.fangraphs.com/not/hawk-harrelson-is-upset/ :rotfl: Outstanding.
  6. It was time to go with Marmol, but at least he had 4 good-to-awesome seasons. He doesn't deserved to be only remembered among the pile of bums.
  7. Which does absolutely nothing to impact Deng's value as a trading chip to other teams.
  8. He doesn't have a bad contract at this point; not even close. And I'm sorry, but are you blind and deaf? You really think he hasn't been a valuable player because of a "gimpy wrist?"
  9. You are the one who came into the playoff hockey thread the morning after a Stanley Cup win trying to convince everyone how irrelevant hockey is. I'm really not. I just had to take issue with that statement because playoff baseball is [expletive] awesome and I won't stand to see it take a back seat to anything. Wrong challenge.
  10. *Salutes*
  11. Yeah this was so cool and I'm basically a bandwagon hockey fan. But now you can be hooked Yeah, I just may have been. 2010 i watched about 5% of the games in the playoffs with the last period of the clincher and didn't really care (basically cool for Chicago), this year i only missed 2 games of the playoffs, and was pretty much hanging on every minute. Yeah, I really enjoyed watching the playoff games for the first time ever, but I still can't see myself giving a damn during the regular season.
  12. Totally managed to be walking down the steps of the L in front of a packed bar literally right as they score the tying goal. Then I got caught up in STREET MADNESS. That was pretty cool.
  13. TMZ is staffed by scum, but in terms of their breaking news accuracy they're actually better than most. It's insane to realize that, I know.
  14. These last four seasons run together into a big, mushy, apathetic blur outside of the brief reprieve of Castro's debut, Shark's emergence and Rizzo. I don't include 2009 just because it at least had the chance of the success of 2008 carrying over to some degree.
  15. Meaning what, exactly? Please tell me that this isn't part of the louder undercurrent of Cubs fans who think the Cubs should replace Castro with Baez ASAP.
  16. no kidding. he's had 22 plate appearances against lhp. schierholtz is a good example of using a player in the right situation and maximizing his value. WSR doesn't have time to check such things.
  17. does the fact that he's arbitration-eligible next year make him more valuable? not sure what his price tag would inflate to as Arb3, but he'd still be a good bargain at $4m or whatever given his current production. The question is will teams buy into his production enough to make an offer worth giving up one of our few productive hitters? Maybe he's another DeRosa who just needed a full time opportunity Schierholtz isn't a full time player with the Cubs.
  18. This is my face after every Castro performance these days: http://simpsonsscreenshots.files.wordpress.com/2011/06/birdsanctuary.png GET BETTER SOON, STARLIN.
