It's not an either/or condemnation; the NFL has laid out much more harsh penalties for lesser offenses or for things that aren't even technically illegal. Regardless of what local authorities did or did not do, basic morality dictated that the NFL should have kicked Rice out ASAP.

You guys do realize the NCAA released their proper protocol for handling sexual assault accusations in athletic departments and Joe Paterno basically did exactly what they wanted him to do, right? So after that was released, this really shouldn't be a big surprise. Don't be shocked when they award the wins back to PSU, too. You can be irate at the University admins ultimately responsible who face their day at trial and still realize that punishing college students, alumni and fans for a legal issue is completely moronic at the same time, believe me. But please, feel free to continue making/laughing at child molestation jokes, thats definitely not a weird thing to do. Damn. You were so promising.

I stopped in a Bungalow Billiards on my way back from vacation to catch the start of the Bears game and their nachos were shamefully bad. Basically just a huge plate of Taco Bell-level food. If you order your nachos and they are brought to you in about two minutes then you are getting shitty nachos.

Yes, I know the overall .500-ness goes way all the way back to May; almost everything still feels gross right now. I just want something resembling everything falling into place to happen for a sustained period to end the year because even when they've been winning you still have to ignore the nightmare numbers of two of those guys you just names. It's just a meatball-y way of me saying I'd like to see everything clicking at once for a while primarily because of the guys we're expecting to carry this team going forward. Hopefully the last few weeks turn around. Rizzo coming back healthy would be a big plus.

dafuq it was going pretty great until like 4 days ago. and a big reason for it to turn bad wasn't predictable at all (that indestructible castro and rizzo would suddenly get hurt within 3-4 days of eachother) Annoyingly predictable in the sense that any momentum or stretch of cool things happening seems to get stamped out pretty quickly. I really, really, really hate having become a variation of the "only the Cobs" crap, but man, it sure feels like it a lot of the time. Like I said, I'm confident about next year, but this one is limping to a disappointing close.
