    I'd say the season as a whole was a success. Lou spoke about changing the culture here. Well, they made the post season and I think that's a quality first step. Yes, they laid an egg once there but they have started the foundation and have a direction. It is absolutely key that they make the playoffs next season. I think that will go extremely far as to changing the culture. Maybe then the players can stop feeling content making an October appearance and grab for the bigger prize.

    The Diamondbacks weren't "much better" than the Cubs. They sure looked like it during the past three games.

    Last night there was a D-bag at the bar that was clearly trying to bait my g-friend and I by rooting for the D-Backs. He couldn't even name 3 players on the team but obviously had a grudge against the Cubs. Even a couple people around us commented on his jackassery and they weren't even baseball fans. The Cubs need to win the next 3 if only so that we can put a big middle finger in the face of these kinds of people.

    Yes, apparently. Not like he ever played in any pressure filled games down the stretch this season. Or, for example, when he was on the team that won the World Series in '03. he hit .188 that series against the cubs. over the course of 76+ postseason ab's, he's hitting like .210 with a SLG under .300. He's this generation's Andre Dawson.

    Has anyone else ordered post season stuff from MLB.com? I got an email on Sunday that informed me I had ordered an advanced sale item and that I would get another email when the order was processed not sent but processed. The website has and still does read that the items are in stock and I have yet to receive another email. Has anyone else ordered and received at least a confirmation of shipment email yet?

    I hope the Cubs can win the WS just for that poor guy's sake. He's been through a whole lot of crap for doing what any of us would have done. Please stop saying this. Maybe you would have done it but I know not everyone would.

    I'm pissed that both Monroe and Jacque Jones are on the roster. We haven't had a semicompetent CF since Kenny Lofton left. Yeah, I'm pissed at Jones and his 3 RBI last night too. I mean.. Jones has been alright for a little while now, but this is a terrible way to make an argument. Steve Trachsel could go out and throw 7 shutout innings today, I'd still be as pissed as I am that he's on the roster and that Lou went to him in a crucial game. Here's hoping he gets lucky on that one today, though. OK, how about this. He's been much better during the 2nd half. One might say he has been a nice little constant in the offense. Oh and it didn't hurt that he had a hit and drove in 3 of the 4 runs last night. If this were Soto people would be screaming bloody murder if he weren't in the lineup today.
