  1. The halftime score illustrates why we probably won't - we don't handle great defensive teams well, and Mike Brey has little interest in adjusting to it as ND makes the same mistakes they've made against every other great defensive team they've played.
  2. Well, it was fun being in ESPN.com's 99.7th percentile for about an hour and a half. I expect my bracket to go quickly downhill from this point.
  3. Enough of this nonsense, Muskies.
  4. AAAhhh- hahahahah. Weeeee! You know what's going to happen, right? It's obvious now. Some other team is going to swoop in and grab Roberts. It's inevitable. I would be perfectly fine with that at the price the O's seem to be asking.
  5. DeRosa doesn't seem like the type to vent to the press before talking to Lou. I'm sure he's had a discussion with him.
  6. I picked WVU. I'm loving this.
  7. 26/32 (got all the 5/12 games and all the 8/9 games right, which has to be the first time in my life that's happened), but 3 Sweet 16 teams gone. I should've picked Nova to the 16 instead of Vandy. If AJ Price hadn't gotten hurt, the Big East would probably have gone 8-0 in the 1st round. Too bad for UConn.
  8. Wow, today is more than making up for yesterday's stinkfests. Western Kentucky scored what I believe is the first NCAA buzzer-beater since Northwestern State two years ago. I've lost only 4 1st round games so far - two Sweet 16 teams (USC and UConn), but I feel ok about where I'm sitting right now.
  9. There is no reason for anything other than Jump by Van Halen to ever be played when the Cubs take the field.
  10. Good win. Irish did not play their best game, but they didn't need to. Bring on Washington State. (I now feel guilty about picking WSU to beat us.)
  11. Irish really aren't even playing that well. Hitting their 3's but taking a lot of bad shots. Luke is playing well below his usual standards. Hopefully they'll look sharper here in the 2nd half.
  12. I actually thought Belmont got away with over the back there.
  13. Belmont is playing a fantastic game. I have Duke out to WVU so I would welcome this upset.
  14. Well, Marquette can bite me. Now 6-1.
  15. 3 for 3 so far along with about 85 percent of the world. I have 3 higher seeds and Kentucky in this next group, but none of the games feature a team I have winning more than once.
  16. A - Alex Rodriguez B - Matt Holliday, Alfonso Soriano C - Aramis Ramirez, Travis Hafner, Adrian Gonzalez D - Gary Sheffield, Ryan Zimmerman, Jason Bay, Nick Markakis, Kevin Kouzmanoff Wild Card - Michael Young

The Bulls would have to lose all their remaining games to have even a remote chance of landing anyone truly good in the draft. I'll take the fraction of one percent chance that the Bulls catch fire and make a playoff run over the one percent chance that the Bulls get a high draft pick that Paxson would probably screw up anyway.

Bulls get a pivotal win over NJ - they'd have been in really dire straits if they'd lost that one. Nets host Atlanta tomorrow, so the Bulls will gain a half-game on one of those two regardless.
  19. This is my least gutsy bracket that I've ever filled out. West Virginia to the Sweet 16, Michigan State to the Elite 8 and Stanford to the title game are the only picks on mine that remotely resemble gutsy.

If it was up to me I would get rid of everybody on the team expect for Noah and Tyrus and even them I would trade for something if needed. Gooden has been really good since coming over I wouldn't have a problem keeping one of Gordon and Hughes either - both are inconsistent, but the Bulls need at least one person capable of going off for 30+ on a given night.
  21. As if I wasn't excited enough already, ND gets Gus Johnson. Thursday can't possibly arrive soon enough.
  22. Howry would be a fine choice, and maybe the best choice. I really want to see Wood step up and win the job though.
  23. 180. Kelvim Escobar 181. Chad Cordero 182. Luke Scott
  24. 170. Johnny Damon 171. Felix Pie 172. Jack Cust 173. Jeff Francoeur 174. Alex Gordon 175. Rafael Furcal 176. Jonathan Broxton 177. Jered Weaver 178. Carlos Marmol 179. Frank Thomas
  25. If you see anyone who looks like Roast working at Wrigley, harass him unmercifully.
