  1. Ah, so today it'll be control problems that cost us the game. Good to know in advance.
  2. Pujols managed to score on a groundout from 2nd to win last night. Somehow I'm not remotely surprised.
  3. What are they saying? Griffey closing in on 600, 'only 2 of the 5 already there aren't tainted'
  4. Brennaman and Walsh are obsessed with steroids.
  5. If he could get jumps like that more often, he could feel free to run more.
  6. I thoroughly enjoyed Neil Funk on the rare occasions I got to hear him over the last few years. I'll like this team.
  7. That's funny because the legend of Ryan Theriot began when he played well in 2006 doing exactly that.
  8. Funny because I like guys who hit over .300 and get on base. Like the best short stop on the team, Ronny Cedeno? Oh but he hits for power in addition to those things, that must be why you don't like him. Remember when we gave Ronny a chance at short in 2006? Yeah we are trying to compete for a world series you don't have to big black holes (Pie/Johnson,Cedeno) in your lineup Oh, the irony. BTW, Pie's been very good since Dave Keller worked with him, but you wouldn't notice because Lou won't effing play him. Yeah and Theriot has been good basically all year but no one wants to admit he is the teams starting shortstop Everyone's admitting he's the starter. At issue is whether he should be (and he shouldn't)
  9. Hard to argue it at least in 2008. Too bad Aramis is hurt, Lee's slumping, and everyone else that Lou will allow to start is either sucking at the plate or in the field.
  10. the cubs have been getting more people on base than their opponents. the reds basically did nothing on offense all night except for a couple of innings when they were helped by cubs' errors. the cubs have been leaving a lot of guys on base lately. plus one of the best hitters on the team has been out of the lineup. the cubs will be fine. it's just a rough patch with poor luck, similar to the rough start to the year last year, but the cubs have more of a cushion after winning a lot in april. I'm not going to lose it yet, but we're going to be down 8.5 if this keeps up. You know STL is going to win tonight's game. they will? did i miss the part where the cardinals were a great team and not an average one? They're actually a quite bad one, but they've played far above their heads before. With those minions I won't believe they're not a threat until they prove it.

  12. I like this Chris Paul fellow. He might end up being pretty decent.

  14. One inning of good offense in three games and you should have swept? Hmm... Yeah, because those errors Soriano made on Friday always happen. I need to be reminded how many good offensive innings STL had in that series, because I believe the answer will be pretty close to zero.
  15. This is like our 5th straight loss that we had no excuse at all to lose.
  16. Font ran on a WP and was probably safe but it wasn't a smart decision anyway
  17. ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME WITH THIS
  18. Just another lucky break for the Cubs. Yawn.
