Carlos Marmol had better be going on the DL. Just give him some damn rest and have him work whatever this is out with somebody. I don't want to SEE him in a game until this is figured out.

Yeah but that's not the point. Lou's an idiot for letting Marmol continue to blow up out there, regardess of what Theriot does. The man's arm is swiss cheese, Jesus. I realize its not the point, and I would not have put him in the game, much less allowed him to stay out there. That said, I think the whole over-use argument may be a bit overblown. I don't see what other reason there could be. Pitchers don't go from that amazing to that horrible like a switch was flipped and stay horrible for a month. Something's wrong.

I've got no problem with them booing a pitcher who has sucked for a month and gave up a 5 run lead in the 9th. I wish they were booing Lou, but they probably weren't.

The Cubs are 4.5 up and they're going to bury the Cards no matter how many more HR's Ankiel and Ludwick have than other Cub and Lohse' unexpected success. Oh, I know. STL really doesn't have much of a chance. It shouldn't bother me so much. But it does.

The only possible explanation is that they're hoping he can pull a Derek Anderson (another middling Oregon St QB who inexplicably is now decent in the pros). But I'm not pleased with anything in Carolina's QB stable right now.

So Ankiel has 3 more than any Cub, Ludwick has 2, and Lohse has a lower ERA than Lilly along with 10 wins. This makes sense.

There's a lot of Carolina rumors, which is ridiculous because the Panthers clearly think Jake Delhomme and Matt Moore are the answer. They are not. I'd honestly love to have Favre if that were to transpire.
