  1. I have a special kind of annoyance for Ludwick, and since this isn't a severe or majorly painful injury, I don't feel the least bit guilty about being happy about it.
  2. If this one gets in and we lose I won't have the thread up till early tomorrow morning, so let's win if it's played, ok, guys?
  3. I've been to two games this year, Lee sucked at both games, and I heard no such thing. Maybe they're more common lately, but there weren't any at the games I attended.
  4. I don't care if he sends Zambrano to first, someone else needs to play. Lee is a parody of himself right now. I'm really beginning to think the physical part of it isn't the whole story for Lee. I think he's shown a whole lot of decline not just since the wrist, but since his daughter got diagnosed with that disorder. I think he may not be fully focused on the game, which would be completely understandable. Just a theory. In a pre-game interview on 720 with judd serott, Lee said that it was actually a misdiagnosis, and that his daughter does not actually have that disease, and her sight is no longer degenerating. So it's not that. Well, I guess that's really good news for him. Unfortunately it doesn't change his current suckitude at baseball. What I don't really like is that Lee will never get booed because he's a nice guy. And I'm sure he is, but if guys are going to get booed, then boo guys that suck, not just guys you don't like.

  6. At least we're getting some good swings off Peavy. SD might have to go to the pen before long if we're lucky.
  7. With our offense it probably won't matter. There are three guys in this lineup that are hitting worth a crap right now, and Lou's inexplicably benching one of them.
  8. Now and then it does occur to me that the team may in fact be cursed. Usually I just write it off as employing some grade A choke artists. I've long since decided that we aren't cursed, but there's definitely something weird going on. We certainly have more than our share of "Cubbie occurrences".
  9. Pathetic. Even if it is Peavy, there's no excuse for that.
  10. More Lou than Lee, but I'm pretty sick of Lee too.
  11. Oh, that's just too bad. Hate to see him be injured in any way.
  12. We don't need no stinkin' correct calls!
  13. Does Gonzalez kill us, or is it just me? I think he's maybe the most underappreciated freaking awesome hitter in baseball.
  14. Ugh. I was watching SportsNite last night and dreaded the 'good injury news' that will put an inferior hitter back into our lineup over Hoffpauir. BTW, I'm on deck to start the next thread and won't be home until a little past midnight tonight, so if we lose, hold tight for a bit and I'll have the thread up by late-night.
  15. No one seems to care if we get hit, but as soon as we're throwing the pitch there's a freaking investigation. Even if the pitch was an effing foul ball.
  16. He gave himself that nickname a couple years ago. Stupid idea.
  17. I got at least 62 of the nicknames before giving up. Missed a bunch of golf and hockey and boxing. Missed All Day too because I didn't see the football notation.
  18. If Sean Marshall is moved out of the rotation, I've officially had it with Lou. Marshall's been pretty good and Wells has one career start. I liked Wells's performance as much of the next guy, but if he's staying up, then he'd better be staying up in the pen.
  19. Pointless post. He should thank Lou Piniella for leaving Dempster out to face him, essentially giving him a free homer.
  20. I got 108/122. Took me longer than I'm proud of to get all the NFL and MLB teams. I missed 4 NBA teams and 10 NHL. Ick.
  21. I hate this argument so much. He didn't pretend to not understand english. He simply felt more comfortable speaking through an interpreter at a congressional hearing. It doesn't even make sense to link that to steroid use. The questions and answers are the same regardless if he uses an interpreter or not. If anything was going to be a strong link, it would be his reaction to Rick Reilly in that infamous 2002 column where Reilly asked him to step up for testing. But since Reilly is a self-righteous jackass and definitely painted that confrontation differently than the way it actually went, I don't buy that either.
  22. Ken Macha may be a better manager than Ned Yost, but evidently he's no less of a crybaby.
