  1. This whole team is playing stupid except for Ben Hansbrough.
  2. Thank God Ben Hansbrough is on fire, because ODU really is playing bad and we're still only up six at the break. Harangody is playing like a moron in his sporadic minutes. Villanova should probably wake the hell up.
  3. Technically, it's a March Madness thread. Does the NIT count as part of March Madness? Arizona State and Jacksonville fans probably think so after last night. Same with Memphis and St. John's fans tonight. Crazy finish.
  4. Does it really matter? I'm not sure he minded when his team was in the NIT last year.... The reason I asked was because I'm pretty sure we had an NIT thread last year, with me feverishly posting updates.
  5. I swear I'm not trying to be mean, but should NIT talk be in an NCAA tournament thread?
  6. That's a lot of faith in Hummel-less Purdue, not to mention Minnesota.
  7. For those interested, here's a list of some of the college football spring games that will be nationally telecast: LSU - March 27th, 4 pm, ESPN2 North Carolina - April 10th, 3 pm, ESPN Auburn - April 17th, 2 pm, ESPNU Alabama - April 17th, 3 pm, ESPN Penn State - April 24th, 2 pm, ESPN2
  8. http://www.hdsportsguide.com/news/2010/cbs-ncaa-tournament-coverage-map-central/ They have the links to the Thursday maps, the Friday ones aren't up yet, but probably will be tomorrow. I had forgotten that since I'm in the Indy TV market that Butler/UTEP will air on CBS here during the 'dead period', which is pretty cool.
  9. The guy running my pool has SDSU and Utah State in the sweet 16. I am not nearly so daring.
  10. Well it's been clearly defined now...but he was drafted, given the starting job after a few games when Warner sucked, was pretty mediocre, but was a rookie. Got injured the next season, and never really got a chance to try to improve, because Warner had a good camp. Maybe "yanked around" isn't the right phrase. But I don't think he's been given a great shot to develop as you'd expect a #1 pick to get. Leinart hasn't been handled the best either, although he was on a team with some talent. Right now the Browns have no talent at any offensive skill position (save, I suppose, Jerome Harrison - I'm not really counting Cribbs because his main talent lies at returner) and they got rid of any talent that they did have, like Winslow and Edwards, for baggage reasons. The thing that makes me laugh is that they're going to give Jake Delhomme the starting job, who sucked last year when he was on a team pretty stocked with offensive talent (Smith, the two running backs). That's going to be horrible.
  11. WVU's best players are guards, but they rebound like possessed madmen and were one of the best in the country at doing so. They're also big which will help them against UK (also big).
  12. International Bowl supposedly going out of business.
  13. I see that Old Dominion doesn't shoot well from 3 - outside the top 100 in the country. That's a good sign for ND, whose biggest defensive struggles since they remade themselves have come from hot outside shooting from the opposition.
  14. I saw them beat Fairfield.
  15. Notre Dame being the 2nd game of the whole tourney to tip off could be awesome or horrible depending on how the game turns out. It will be much different than their last two trips when they played late-night Thursday (08) and afternoon Friday (07) in the 1st round matchup.
  16. Georgetown/Ohio State could have easily been a Final Four matchup for me if the brackets had been arranged differently. Instead they're slated to meet in round 3. And KU/Ohio State could have been a championship game matchup. As it is I think the winner of that wins it all. I'd love to see OSU win it. Two Illinois boys Turner and Matta doing well. I have them winning it, but I don't feel good about it. I don't think there's any team I'd feel good about picking this year, though, especially out of the Midwest. My usual Big East homer picks aren't as bad as they usually are, mostly because I have Pitt going out early. I still have 6 of them in the Sweet 16 and 4 in the Elite 8 though.
  17. Georgetown/Ohio State could have easily been a Final Four matchup for me if the brackets had been arranged differently. Instead they're slated to meet in round 3. And KU/Ohio State could have been a championship game matchup. As it is I think the winner of that wins it all.
  18. Cornell and Siena winning one game. Louisville, Xavier and Notre Dame winning two.
  19. I have no 11s winning and a Final Four of all 2s. No 1s miss the Sweet 16 either - the lowest seeds I have in the 16 are Xavier and ND, both 6s. This is a horrible bracket I have. I think I'll be tinkering, which I never do, but I feel so awful about these picks.
  20. 61 teams within one seed line too if I'm correct. (Cal, Marquette, Texas)
  21. I have OSU, KSU, WV and Nova (seriously, the South bracket is a mess...why am I picking Nova to go anywhere?). I hate these picks.
  22. Early upset picks? I took Siena over Purdue (2nd-guessing my original pick because I wanted to pick a 13 - it was down to Murray and Siena) and Cornell over Temple. But so far I have all the 1's and 2's in the sweet 16.
  23. I found this quote over on Adam Schefter's Twitter and I shake my head. Cleveland going from possibly getting Jay Cutler to Peyton Hillis and two late rd draft picks for Brady Quinn, is the main reason why they are the Browns. I may lose it if they draft Jimmy Clausen, as ESPN's John Clayton is floating. That franchise is poison for skill position players.
  24. Dang it. I don't know who to pick between Kansas and Ohio State. Whoever wins is my champion, I think. I have OSU down for now.
  25. When did you start hating the ACC so much? I don't hate the ACC. I think they were weak this year and Va Tech shouldn't have been in. I'm not alone (obviously). I seem to recall you saying that only 5 teams in the ACC deserved a bid. Also, you were begging to get Duke and complaining that they were ahead of Syracuse and West Virginia, when Duke is number 1 in Pomeroy's and Sagarin's predictor rankings. EDIT: Also, the ACC is #1 is Pomeroy's conference rankings and #3 and Sagarin's. Out of the ones though I would want them as well. And really I don't understand why even a Duke fan wouldn't get that. Kansas has Aldrich and ND would have had no answer for him whatsoever. Kentucky is super-athletic - beatable but incredibly talented. Duke is a team with Zoubek, who while tough is no Aldrich, and they aren't going to run you off the court athletically. It's perfectly reasonable. And the ACC had 5 good teams this year - if you consider Wake a good team. GaTech managed to get a good win over Maryland in the ACC tourney otherwise they'd have been out, if you ask me.
