  1. When he was on Carolina, Kevin Greene was very entertaining to me.
  2. Pretty much. That 'scoop' reeks of Herbstreit's Miles-to-Michigan 'scoop'.
  3. Haha, way to go Aramis. It's about time one of these Chicago-media morons got called on their BS.
  4. Pretty cool that Soriano did that. Not as cool as if he were presently a very good baseball player, but still pretty cool.
  5. Yet another chance for Quade to take the spotlight off what a horrible job he's done with this team.
  6. I saw nothing else on the matter but there was a blurb on the ESPN bottom line today that said Florida St was considering an SEC move too. Hard to believe but I suppose not impossible. The ACC would probably just grab a Big East school or perhaps Central Florida to replace them.
  7. If he is retired, that's more money off the books for 2012, is it not?
  8. I think we're joining the Pac-n, but the thought of OKSt being relegated to a non-BCS school in that scenario intrigues me. If you joined the Pac-n, I'm guessing it'd be a mass migration with OK State, Texas and Texas Tech.
  9. Matt Hayes of Sporting News said it's a big IF, but if the A&M thing happens and if Oklahoma decides not to be the 14th SEC team, Va Tech and Missouri would be considered in OU's stead.
  10. Evidently they are. Just announced they'll be calling Giants/Skins and Albert and Co. will get Bears/Falcons. Sam Rosen continues his Panthers beat reporting out in Arizona.
  11. 19 and whatever you call DePaul. How would that schedule even work? I mean, two ten-team divisions and no inter-division play? Probably 18-game schedule and no game against one team. I guess?
  12. There are lots of nice guys in the NFL, but only Tebow has been able to parlay being nice into getting people to completely ignore that he's not good at being an NFL quarterback, and isn't likely to get good either. look i don't think he'll be much good either, but he only played parts of 9 games and had 82 passes thrown, and he wasn't terrible. it's a bit early to just say he sucks. Until he stops taking 5 seconds to go from the start to end of his throwing motion, gets more accurate and/or gets much faster, I don't think it is.
  13. The prevailing rumor is that Mizzou/KU/KSU/ISU would become part of some sort of mutant Big East. I imagine the rest would be split amongst the SEC and Pac-12, and Baylor joins the new MWC or something. But seriously, the aTm fans are in such a little brother rage over LHN that they're making up SECede T-shirts and believing every made up rumor that sounds like they'd go to the SEC. I wonder if they realize that reinforces the stereotype. Yeah, Mizzou and Kansas would definitely end up in the Big East under that scenario. I'm not sure what the league would end up doing with its basketball-only members.

  15. Sam Rosen: Voice of the San Francisco 49ers Carolina Panthers. I watched the first few Panthers games last year and I'm pretty sure Rosen did about 4 of them.
  16. Man, that's pretty shady stuff.
  17. I think he's hoping to run across the ultra-rare Honus Wagner card since he ran across a Sammy one after this thread was started.
  18. In football that's always been the case. It hasn't in basketball. Which is too bad, basketball doesn't need to become the recruiting cesspool that football is. The basketball recruiting cesspool is far worse than football.
  19. ND's top recruit, Eric Katenda, was blinded in his left eye thanks to an accident in a pickup game that severed his optic nerve. There's apparently no medical procedure to repair a severed optic nerve as of now. Just an awful story.
  20. Or Carolina for that matter.
  21. Alright folks, here we go. A couple of things: 1) This year I will save myself some time by omitting mention of the non-FBS games on the schedule, though this isn’t meant to discourage fans of those teams (Flames for SIU, Truffle for HC, etc) to discuss those games. 2) It should be noted that all games broadcast by an ESPN network (outside of ABC games) are also broadcast on ESPN3.com. This also holds for any game identified as being on the SEC Network or the ACC Network. As always, times listed are Eastern time. 22. He was basically suspended for a semester just like Kyle McAlarney was, but McAlarney was dumb enough to let his violation occur during his athletic season.
  23. Texas football could easily be independent right now, but they aren't going to find anyone to take the rest of their sports - at least no league good enough for them. ND was fortunate enough to get the Big East to take most of their other sports and that's the #1 reason by far they've been able to maintain independence, even more than NBC.
  24. Enjoyed the gratuitous Lou Brock mention from Joe Buck, and like all the other mentions of Brock it completely ignored the fact that he was a hot steaming pile of garbage in a Cub uniform. Oh, and Buck also floated Marmol as a trade candidate for other teams, evidently ignoring that he was signed to an expensive 3 year deal five months ago.
