  1. Personally, I don't. That was some 2006 level [expletive] right there from Jones and Hendricks.
  2. Gary Jones took a nap rather than tell him to go back to 2nd.
  3. Garcia made diving catch, dropped it on transfer, threw wildly to 1st for DP attempt, but Hendricks was at 3rd so they could just go to 2nd for the DP. 3 DPs in 3 innings. Way to go, team
  4. I'm pretty sure he's not the worst hitter in baseball, but damn if he's not trying to change it.
  5. Castro must have done something to piss off the baseball gods this week.
  6. Same suspension as Brady as of now. Wasn't he suspended all but 1 game last year for this too? He was. Still got paid, though, on that made-up 'commissioner's exempt list'.
  7. Doesn't seem right. Overall record is 46-38, so if the first part is correct we're 30-34 when not scoring in the 1st.
  8. According to my MLB.TV, the Cubs broadcast today is on WGN, in case you don't want to watch Hawk. ETA: It seems it was wrong.
  9. Florida State has some real problems right now. [tweet] [/tweet] This incident reportedly happened one day after DeAndre Johnson's that got him thrown out.
  10. He's been worse than I thought this year, but he was pretty good each of the last two seasons, is still locked up through next year and is cheaper than Castro. Maybe if SD is content to sell low on Cashner and gamble that Castro isn't the black hole of suck he's been 2 of the last 3 years, I guess they'd consider it. If I were in their shoes I wouldn't.
  11. The Padres, and they probably wouldn't think about it much either.
  12. I asked about it in the GDT Wednesday, but seriously, I don't think any of Lackey, Wacha or Martinez ever [expletive] give up more than 2 runs in a start, and Lynn rarely does either. It's impossible.
  13. 1.64 WHIP and a lefty? We'd better crush this guy
  14. That's why I asked. I guess there is, then, cause I couldn't fall asleep for a good 90 minutes after that game. That [expletive] hurt. How do you guys just let it go like that? It stuck in my mind like a thorn. Games get to me longer than they should, too, but I'm the opposite - I'm far more likely to have trouble sleeping after an awesome win.
  15. The fact that Motte unseated Rondon to begin with always struck me as weird. Someone as statistically open-minded as Joe had (and has) to see that Rondon is the superior pitcher. closer isn't necessarily where you use your superior pitcher I agree, but Motte has almost exclusively pitched the 9th for some time now regardless of matchups - and the flexibility to play matchups is precisely why Joe hasn't specifically named him the closer, isn't it?

  17. There is zero acceptable explanation for Fowler suddenly becoming [expletive] awful this year. None.
  18. I wonder how many PEDs Peralta is on to be having the best stretch of his [expletive] career in his mid 30s
  19. I can't quit you, Cubs. Today it's paying off. I love that STL players have now bitched to the ump during the play two days in a row. Playing the right way my hairy white ass.
  20. Rooting for them is never acceptable. Unless them losing would eliminate the Cubs somehow. And even then only begrudging indifference is OK.
  21. Outside Lyons, do any of their starting pitchers ever just not have it? Like, ever?
  22. That's all I need to see to know what this game is
