That Stanford performance was puketastic. Northwestern certainly deserves credit for putting Stanford in position to gutless-weenie themselves out of the game, and that's exactly what David Shaw did.
Well it's not like he backed out of a home and home with a team like, oh, Michigan State, to continue to play so called neutral games. Wait never mind that's exactly what happened
SMU really fudged up that last possession, though. Gotta think that will loom large. Either way, though, Chad Morris looks like a home run hire early for the Mustangs.
Am I the only one that would rather us get STL in a 1-gamer than flip the home field of a coin-flip game? Or is my abject hatred for STL clouding my judgment here?
I think it's the one you can best point to and say Javy Baez will make it. 2 singles, neither pulled, a bases-loaded walk on a tough 3-2 pitch, and a bomb. It's definitely nice to see.
Off topic, but they won't for a while because ND canceled the back half of what was to be a four-game series to make room for a series with Georgia. That annoyed me because glutton for punishment that I am, I didn't see why they couldn't just play both.
Aramis is almost certainly the 2nd-best Cub I've seen in my conscious lifetime and by virtue of the teams on which he played, probably had more big hits than any Cub ever. Any honor he gets is good with me.
Missing the STL series is suboptimal. Then again, we're playing the Pirates 7 more times and would probably have to lose several of those for them to catch STL, so it probably doesn't matter a ton.
