  1. That was 6 feet shy of getting out, and to the opposite field to boot. I would've absolutely lost my mind if he'd gone deep.
  2. You know, I would never say those games weren't stressful because obviously they were, but I don't think I ever really thought they were going to lose. Particularly once the Cleveland outfield misplayed Russell's fly ball into a 2-run double in Game 6, I thought it was gonna happen.
  3. 2016 was the most fun and it's never going to be topped. We all thought the team was going to be awesome, and if anything they exceeded expectations. It was a beginning-to-end blast. That said, this season - so far - has been absolutely delightful, and PCA transforming into an MVP seemingly overnight has been a complete joy.
  4. So PCA has a 2 run HR to dead center that I can't believe he muscled out and he just raced into the gap to snag what probably should've been a double. Just another day
  5. It makes perfect sense for Detroit to hold Skubal to face us, they'll be favored to beat the White Sox anyway, might as well have him face a good team if they can easily make it happen. Not that I expect they considered this all that much, but in the extremely unlikely event the Cubs and Tigers end up with the same record and meet in the World Series, I believe HFA comes down to head-to-head record.
  6. That was nowhere near as easy as Shaw just made it look. Man he's good over there.
  7. TBF Russell was already kinda going down in flames as a player when it started becoming clear he was also a sociopath
  8. He's been even better than I thought but defense was never his problem, which is why a lot of us wanted him up when it became clear no other 3B option could hit either. But TBF, the adjustments they wanted him to make seem to have taken at the plate.
  9. I'd love this. I know he's got some weird boomer love for radio and that's cool, bring him back as Pat's replacement. I don't think it'll happen but I'd be all over it; I also think Len and Ron would actually play off each other pretty well.
  10. PCA pace is 44 HR, 44 SB and 145 RBI. While playing Platinum Glove defense in CF. To think when this year started we just wanted him to hit enough to keep his glove in the lineup.
  11. Shaw is hitting opposite field bullets every time up. Very encouraging.
  12. There's almost no one else in all of baseball that wouldn't have even drawn a throw home there.
  13. Some freaking wizard stuff from the base runners this inning
  14. Seems like there's been a decent amount of hard contact at defenders
  15. That was a bad call but I wish guys would just fight that one off sometimes. Don't like leaving it in the ump's hands.
  16. As long as it's not past first (or third) base, it being foul or fair is not final yet. Works the other way too. It was pretty clever by the Sox 1B
  17. Shaw is either the best fielder of all options or very close and he can't realistically hit worse, so yeah, let's get him back up here. Maybe by the end of the year he'll be PCA-ing
  18. I was just thinking earlier how funny it is that it took him so freaking long to so much as get a hit and now less than a year later he's destroying the ball.
  19. Basically if the starter doesn't go 5 IP and the lead doesn't change hands after that the scorekeeper picks the winning pitcher. No idea what that process looks like.
  20. The wind helped a bit but it looks like the offense is awake again
  21. Holy crap, a double brain fart by the Sox. Should've probably gone for the DP in the first place, then Thaiss drops the ball on top of it, so no out at all.
