  1. I really don't understand why Almora's bat was so important that we had to play Murphy instead of Heyward. That's what it came down to and it was a mistake.
  2. Jon Lester is a horsefeathering god. Talk about delivering on all the hype when he signed
  3. It'd be 1 in 4 years if we weren't horsefeathering stupid enough to fire Mallee for no real reason. Can't let one mistake beat you twice.
  4. The reports are Joe wanted to dump Mallee and get Chili, although the FO wouldn't have done it if they didn't want to.
  5. I mean it’s hard to compare the offensive numbers from last year to this year and look at the % of PA taken by players on the team in 2017 and not fire him. I’m sure Theo has some fancy advanced statistics that tell him how much Chili sucks too If there's any truth to the idea that Joe's on the rocks, there's no way Chili comes back.
  6. Why in the name of horsefeathers is Zaidman doing the 5th inning play by play when Len is sitting right there
  7. Thought there were only 2 outs, this team is eliminating themselves so quickly I can't keep up
  8. Dude didn't even have to move. Our guys are really accurate with their line drives.
  9. 3 days rest for the first time ever? No problem against these guys
  10. Yeah, I hate saying it, but I don't want this wreck of a team having anything more to do with the Brewers this season. I’m the opposite. We’ve already surrendered our manhood to the Brewers this season. Losing to them again would not make it worse. Beating them would make it so much better. 100 percent. If we lose tonight, Milwaukee has this season on us anyway. Might as well take the chance of a 2015 STL revenge scenario.
  11. My weird gut feeling is we either go down in flames tonight or we somehow win the pennant.
  12. I have Cleveland #1 and Oakland #2 easily. Atlanta would probably be third (fun young team), or maybe Colorado. I don't hate Milwaukee nearly as much as most of you. I don't want them to win but it wouldn't bother me. I'd probably have them fifth with Boston and the Yankees 6 and 7, order irrelevant. Houston's dead last purely out of spite. LA second to last.
  13. There is no way Hendricks pitches unless Lester gets hurt early. Hamels I can see coming in for an inning. Wouldn't surprise me if Joe was planning on that to be honest.
  14. Good point on Hamels. We should be able to use him tomorrow because if we win he'd still be able to go in Game 4 of an LDS. He'll be on 2 days rest so probably no more than an inning or two, but it gives us another option. Montgomery threw 33 pitches yesterday and 62 five days before that. He should conceivably be available, and he'd be transitioning to the bullpen anyway. Hendricks would start a game 1 LDS, but Hamels probably has to go game 2. You don't want Quintana back on 3 days rest Friday. horsefeathers, I'd forgotten that because we screwed this division up that we can't have Lester/Hendricks to start the series.
  15. As was pointed out in the Brewers thread, Hamels will be on 2 days rest. Maybe he could go an inning and still pitch Friday in Game 2? Edited because I forgot the WC game changes our rotation
  16. TIL Bryant's Disco Ball has me on ignore
  17. Lester goes for us. Marquez and Stripling would've been lined up for Colorado and LA but I guess Marquez started this game for the Rockies?
  18. Lester until his arm falls off and then Hamels. Good point on Hamels. We should be able to use him tomorrow because if we win he'd still be able to go in Game 4 of an LDS. He'll be on 2 days rest so probably no more than an inning or two, but it gives us another option.
  19. And even after that they needed like a dozen different ridiculous things (STL falling on their ass on the way to a tying run, a 3-run wild pitch, Castellanos literally handing over the winning run) to happen to force this game. It was meant to be for them and that's just the way it happened. yeah, stop being unreasonable about this and look at it logically. the brewers won because GOD wanted them to. I haven't been King Rational, far from it. It just took a ridiculous run of dumb things for us to lose the division even as shitty as this offense has been. Unfortunately, it won't take a ridiculous run of dumb things for us to lose tomorrow or to Milwaukee in the LDS or whenever it happens, our Chiliball offense will take care of that.
  20. I don't think they'll fire Hickey. The pitching has been good enough that you can justify keeping him. I hated him as much as anyone for the Chatwood saga, but he seems to have done alright with most of the staff.
  21. im actually not meaning to criticize the cubs because 95 wins is like ... what can you even say? I would have taken that with a healthy team. It's just the constant "well here's the thing, the cubs are good and the brewers are actually bad. ok they're not bad but they aren't good. ok they're good now but they're not real good and we're better. ok actually now we got 2 hit at home and lost the division OK NOW THEY"RE BETTER THAN WE ARE SORRY GUYS" that's obnoxious and wrong. i mean a pretty good player became prime barry bonds for the past month what the hell can we do And even after that they needed like a dozen different ridiculous things (STL falling on their ass on the way to a tying run, a 3-run wild pitch, Castellanos literally handing over the winning run) to happen to force this game. It was meant to be for them and that's just the way it happened.
  22. I have to work late tomorrow so I'm super excited to half-watch us implode in an empty office.
  23. But who would play a glittering defensive 2B if we got to extra innings?
  24. Yep. I doubt we're winning tomorrow anyway but the path to a pennant is better if we knock LA out tomorrow rather than having to potentially beat them 4/7 (not that there's any chance in hell we beat this horsefeathering jackass Milwaukee team 3/5)
