  1. At least you made your opinion without using stats
  2. 1) From what we can tell there are options for either 2 or 3 years. 2) We'll never know because he's going to play RF. 3) Indications are that he has an NTC for the first 5 years (then he's a 10/5 player so he'd have no-trade protection anyway)
  3. uh somewhere in this thread theres a point i made where 122 games of JD Drew is a heck of a lot better than 162 games of Soriano in CF. Unfortunately, you failed to provide any facts to support your argument. Last year 162 games of Soriano was >>> than J.D. Drew. I think we need to stop assuming that age automatically equals decline in production. Soriano is only 30 years old. It is possible that he can continue his better numbers over the next few years. Hahahaha...that's a completely ridiculous claim if you've read the whole thread. KC has provided a ton of facts to back up his case. There's still room to disagree with his case and provide facts to counter it, but he has provided a lot of factual information to back his opinion. To claim otherwise is to disrespect the work he has done here and lower your own credibility. Sorry, I'm trying to keep up with the whole thread. Look no further than last year when they both played the whole season and I would take Soriano's numbers over Drew's any day of the week. Screw the arguement, I will take them both and never compare them to each other again. Preach it.
  4. Do you know of the top of your head what the longest NSBB thread is/was? I can tell you with some definitiveness without reading it that the Nomar trade thread was probably the longest (and I wasn't even here).
  5. I'm gonna stick with the classic Fonzie. I just can't wait until he does something good so I can say "AlfonsOWNED" I'll be saying "AAAYYYYY!" with thumbs up.
  6. I'm gonna stick with the classic Fonzie.
  7. None others have been made public yet.
  8. You'll have to forgive me for not thinking. Between the two papers I'm simultaneously writing while trying to keep up with this the Soriano stuff, my head is fried. On a side note, I might be the only person here who's read every single post in this thread. I have. How can you not? Beginning to end hilarity.
  9. Seriously, this beats the crap out of the other most entertaining offseason threads that I can remember (Pierre, Neifi, Glendon). :D
  10. My favorite Bill Mueller memory is that whenever he came to the plate in MVP Baseball 2004, Mike Krukow would say, "Now here's a guy who won't be winning any batting titles anytime soon." Mueller was, of course, the defending AL batting champion when the game was made.
  11. Daisuke's not a position player.
  12. he is a good player, but he's also overrated. he's being paid like one of the best players in baseball, and he clearly isn't. How is he overrated? Please no stats involved. Your opinion. How in the blue hell are you supposed to say what you think of a player without going off of stats? It's pretty easy. Oh, it's really easy to state a non-stat opinion. It's just very difficult to make a very reasoned argument without them.
  13. Murton definitely needs to stay in LF. For one thing the Cubs don't have enough money left to go after anyone else for left, and for another Murton has earned a shot to prove he can be a great player in the majors.
  14. Negative = Me, KC, Jon, TT, Navin, CubsinNY, Rob (might have missed a few) Positive= Everyone else Oversimplifying. There are people in the middle, as well. Besides that I really doubt someone trying to catch up cares whos on what side and moreso what each view is, not to mention details. Considering CT said he believed the reaction was negative I think it's fair to say he was curious who agreed with what.

  16. Largely, but there are a few holding out positivity. A few of us (me, jjgman, XZero, ConstableRabbit and a few others) are holding to the "hate the money, love the move anyway" opinion.
  17. New land speed record? Yeah, I suspect the only thing that comes close are the '03 playoff game threads. The opening day thread was 84 pages long in premium or something.
  18. There's no such thing as a "fit" for a baseball team. Put the best 9 guys on the field. This isn't like basketball where different teams need different things. Everyone needs hitters who can get on base, pitchers who can hold the other team without scoring, good defenders.
  19. Noc is a great actor. :) 4-point game with about 3 minutes to go.
  20. JUST BECAUSE HE IS IN THE NO CHARGE CIRCLE DOES NOT MEAN IT IS A DEFENSIVE FOUL. IT IS A NO-CALL IF HE IS IN THAT CIRCLE. NOT THAT HARD. Freaking refs
  21. This is a load of crap. The zebras are taking over. Noc gets T'd for doing no more bitching than Kobe did (about a much worse call on top of that).
  22. I seriously doubt that. But it's still worth the risk IMO.
  23. SOMEONE GOT MY SCREEN NAME RIGHT!!!! I got used to quoting your posts in political threads.
  24. I think if ND beats USC, Mich plays for the title. Mich will pick up USC's #2 votes then, as someone astutely pointed out in another thread.
  25. The rooks, Deng and Noc look really friggin good right now.
