  1. Big must win for my Indians. Hoping Bauer's finger opens up during warmups tomorrow and we get a bullpen game. :/
  2. Big tribe fan here. I used to visit this forum quite a bit, but I haven't in a few years. What a crazy year! Good luck everyone!
  3. I'm still not a Kobe fan, but he has been silly-good this season. He's shooting a career high 47.5% in his 17th year. Redic.
  4. 32-25 without your best player is pretty damn respectable.
  5. a $12m salary for his age 35 season makes the contract a lot less desirable? that's pretty small potatoes unless he becomes completely unproductive in 5 years. yup, i've certainly never heard of a .700 ops hitter becoming unproductive as early as age 35 I'm assuming a front office, especially one as notoriously cheap as the Indians', won't let the vesting option be a factor if there is a significant drop off.
  6. Sweet Jesus, we'll be lucky if he's hitting .100 by August. But really, I'm really excited about the Indians' offseason. No huge names, and Swisher is essentially a wash with Choo (except for +Bauer), but I'll take Reynolds, Bourn, Capps, Aviles, Stubbs, and Brett Myers over some of the AA players I saw at the end of last year. And, if even one of the no risk flyers we took on Giambi, Dice-K, and Kazmir turns into big league production then that's just a bonus. We added a ton of depth and have a shot at winning a game or two against a left handed starting pitcher this year. It makes me wonder if Francona had any impact on these signings. This doesn't immediately make us Central competitors, but I'm much more hopeful.
  7. I like the hire. I'll love it if it brings Norv. Update: Cleveland local sports are saying Norv is coming as well as Norv's son.
  8. Mike Polk is awesome:
  9. I second this. There is some sort of fake aura that people assume follows baseball. But, it has only slowed any progress or evolution of the game. And, it's this same mentality that puts such a huge, unnecessary emphasis on steroids.
  10. RG3 looked handicapped most of the game before he re(further)-injured his knee. It was tough to watch the slow-motion replays of his throw when you could see that he could barely put pressure on it. Shanahan is a moron.
  11. I hope he gets sanctioned to hell.
  12. How can anyone who watched any second-half Seattle game think they aren't good? They've been great. And, they're going to be very good for quite awhile.
  13. Why would he want to go to Cleveland? I didn't watch a lot of their games this year but they weren't that bad. Yeah, they've got a decent amount of talent and now an owner serious about doing what it takes to win. It's not one of the better jobs out there, but it has the potential to be. And, he's probably going to get a ton of control and oodles of money.
  14. Even using raw stats this isn't true. Luck is a rookie. The stats are very close to even and Luck has got his team in the playoffs in year one. If every GM in the NFL was offered the choice of Luck or Bradford, how many would choose Luck? And how many seconds would it take them to make that decision? Who the [expletive] cares? Luck is an average quarterback and he doesn't posses some gene that allows him to play better in certain situations. Actually, that's inaccurate. I have it on good authority that Luck has the winner gene. But, yeah. I think Luck has the ability to be a top 5 QB, but his performance this year was wayyy overblown.
  15. This is probably a bad time to mention that I don't think it's too far fetched that the cavs will get LeBron back.
  16. I was upset the Browns let Heckert go, but it looks Haslam was going to make a big push for Saban or Chip Kelly all along. If he can get Saban I'll be pretty impressed.
  17. I'm irrationally excited, because he's a buckeye. But he's basically white Choo with more power and a worse arm.
  18. Rashad Jennings is starting for Jax, which neither MJD nor Tate are doing. Now, if you think MJD will come in and not miss a beat, that's a whole different debate but I'd go with the guy who is starting. That's what scares me. I think MJD will still probably get 15+ carriers, and if it's a close game like it should be, I'm guessing he'll carry the load late, and probably get the goal line touches. And Tate is capable of 10-12 points even in a backup role.
  19. Week one has sucked so far with injury decisions. Luckily, I sat Witten, but I have no guarantee that Owen Daniels will do anything. The big decision: Need 2 RB: Doug Martin vs. CAR Rashad Jennings @ MIN Maurice Jones-Drew @ MIN Ben Tate vs. MIA I think I will go with Doug Martin for one spot, because he seems closest to sure points. Can't decide between the other 3. If Adrian would happen to miss the game, that would help quite a bit.
  20. The Browns are so depressing. :(
  21. Well, I don't have to watch Austin Kearns as much anymore.
  22. After throwing himself into Rose. I thought the officiating was even, but it was a bad call there. the foul wasn't called on the body contact. he threw his legs into rose, yes, but watch it in slow motion. even afterward, wade was pointing to his elbow (grain of salt, i know)
  23. yeah, seeing the dwade replay again, he got hit twice on the elbow.
  24. the same thing happened to the cavs each of the last two seasons. beat boston/orlando/la/etc in the regular season. a 7 game series is a completely different monster.
  25. yeah, he was hit on the elbow, then hand.
