  1. And people were thinking I'm a "spaz" and completely unrealistic with my expectations of the Bears. Looks like I'm not the only one upset. Is this team any better then it was a year ago? We've had very little to no CLEAR upgrades at any one position.
  2. Wow how many D-linemen do the Bears want to carry? The amount of talent on the D-line in the NFC North is crazy...
  3. I would be thrilled with Zach Miller as our TE. I would consider our offseason as an upgrade if we can land a proven player like him.
  4. Well according to Lovie we have two #1 wideouts on this team. The OL apparently is 100% fine as is too!
  5. This just in, Bears sign QB Ryan Leaf as their 2nd QB.
  6. I question their pass rush.
  7. Yuck, he's awful, and I'm not just saying that because he's from Ohio State. He's a much bigger disappointment than Gaines Adams was when we brought him aboard. The common thing with him, Hurd and Williams is that the Bears are going the cheap route. I would be fine with that, if they could sign ONE immediate impact player.
  8. http://clarkjudge.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/6384866/30965415 Osi and the Giants are involved in a bitter dispute. I'd prefer Osi over Ghoulston.
  9. Per the Trib, the Bears are looking to bring in recently cut DE Vernon Ghoulston from the NYJ, former first round pick.
  10. Reports are that Forte is @ Bears camp.
  11. You and me both. But then you'll miss all of the New England games. Cmon, you KNOW CBS has me covered!!
  12. You and me both.
  13. I'm not happy with just Williams and Hurd. I'd love a MSW or Malcolm Floyd signing. I love what the Chargers do for Rivers in the sense that they give him huge targets to throw to with good skill sets. Cutler needs more weapons.
  14. 2nd most wins in the NFC in the last 6 years. The problem is consistency. 3 double digit win seasons. 2 sub .500 seasons in the last 6 years. Even the good teams in 2005 (29th ranked offense), 2006 (Grossman), and 2010 (30th ranked offense) had major flaws and won because unsubstainably good defense and special teams. I'm a big believer in the 3 phases of football, because the Bears have shown that you can win with substandard qualities (mostly on offense). But alot of this is perception: people value offense above all. The fact is, building a team on defense is valid. The Bears do really well in everything *except* offense. I do believe we need to succeed on the offensive side of the ball to be a consistent winner like the Patriots. But casting this team as a bunch of bumbling idiots is what gets me. We all like to complain about Angelo, complain about Lovie's decisions. But let's not take it too far. There are real accomplishments on those resumes. Would I like it to be better? Of course. But it's not......the Texans (sorry to pick on them). Or the Browns. You're absolutely correct. This team isn't the Browns or Texas for sure. They're a middle of the pack team that has had a few very impressive seasons on defense and special teams. Our best players on defense are getting old quickly and my main problem is with Angelo. Angelo hasn't been drafting impact players over the past 3 years and constantly picks players that are washing out of our roster. To say that we have NO picks remaining from 2007 is sad. I do have faith that 1 of Carimi or Paea will stick and I do think with the exception of the Enderle pick, this was our best draft in 5 years. I'm pulling for Cutler because hes THE best QB this franchise has had in 30+ years. I would just like to see him supported with quality offensive players.
  15. You are acting like other teams were like "Oh crap, Albert Haynesworth? Why didn't I think of acquiring him! Dammit Patriots, you are just too smart for us." It's so damn shrewd of the Pats to take a chance on an overpaid headcase who chooses when to display his admittedly good talent. I agree, I'm sure there were teams that thought it was a bad move. But actually it was a brilliant move. The Pats had what, 6 picks in the first 3 rounds to work with in this years draft? It was a great move. 1)Because the Pats have the best coach in football that every player in the NFL respects and he has the ability to pick up scraps off the garbage heap and work with those players to turn them back into difference makers. 2)They have nothing to lose and everything to gain in two former top players at their positions, especially due to the amount of talent they added thru the draft. You can call me a spaz all you want, but I'm pissed off because this team has set Cutler up to fail for going on 3 seasons now. We can't give this guy offensive tools to work with or a semi-decent oline to work behind? I'm pissed off because I'm tired of the analysts, fans, naysayers and even my own friends chide Cutler on the daily. I think the guys a great QB but he has suffered due to Angelo's mental midget moves and drafts. We made the playoffs yes, but our defense is quickly aging, the kickoff rules have changed and I dont have faith that they're going to be able to carry the Bears as much as they have in years past.
  16. Umadbro???? I'm not content with merely making it to the playoffs and losing in a horrible fashion. And I really don't understand how any fan can be happy with our personal moves. With that said why do you have a problem with me giving credit and respect to the pats while also being sarcastic at the same time?
  17. you realize that other people can read your posts, right? Yes I realize that and I highly doubt anyone on here would disagree with the above statement or sentiment. We can barely manage the TE position, let alone the entire roster. EDIT: None of the 2007 draft picks made by Chicago remain on the roster. Nah, most of the people here aren't football whoooo-ahs. If that's the case then most people here are baseball "whoooo-ahs" because its a similar mindset with the Cubs. One can only take so much stupidity before it turns to anger. EDIT: Bandwagon or not Truffle, nobody can hate on the Pats for their front office moves and organizational philosophy/coaching. I'm not a Tom Brady fan but I'm a fan of the Pats playing chess while everyone is playing checkers. In the Bears case they're playing Life. I dont have to wait another few days to feel this way, as I've grown quite accustomed to the gross mismanagement of draft picks and team personal.

  19. That's a lot of spin. They were in the NFC Championship game. Somehow that's a joke? It definitely could be. A bad call against the Lions, a horrible team in the Divisional game and the Green Bay game wasn't as close as the score indicated. GB is stacked on defense and our offense will continue to be inept against them and perhaps even the Lions if we don't seriously upgrade our offensive positions.
  20. Watch us walk away with Roy Williams and some subpar lineman by Monday and Angelo declare our team "ready" for the season. I cannot understand what Chicago is trying to accomplish. Playing against Green Bay was humorous in the NFC title game because their DB's absolutely owned Bears WRs.
  21. LOL@ Bears. [expletive], stupid, dumb franchise. Meanwhile the Pats trade for Ochocinco and pickup Fat Albert. Looks like I'm rooting for the Pats this year until the Bears turn into a competent organization
  22. Only the bears and cubs
  23. The Bears better sign Sims-Walker and Edwards at this point....
  24. It's amazing how I can be SO pumped for this season as of 2-3 days ago and now I'm debating if I should shell out the dough to watch this team.
