  1. Lets just hope they don't find pixie dust and win 8 games because that would make everything even worse. This team needs an even higher draft pick next year.
  2. Wow [expletive] the Bears. This coupled with the Kane news is absolutely brutal for Chicago sports fans
  3. I'm not just talking about Kobe's bank account, I'm talking about why his bank account is bloated. People are still eating him up and buying his image, still. Basically, as long as you're a sports 'hero' a large percentage of people out there will accept you within reason of a crime. Wait til Greg Hardy racks up his sacks this year so we could see 100k people stand up and clap. Yes I engage in some misery porn after my favorite teams [expletive] the bed in a shocking and spectacular fashion. I rarely go into social issues and politics. I dont have the time, stamina or narcissism to post 50k times and last word everybody to death. For that, you should be thankful.
  4. Well of course the mouth breathing idiots on ESPN.com are going to joke about it. They also 'joke' about sexual orientation and skin color just to stir up a [expletive] storm and incessantly flame each other. Ultimately the numbers show people are buying his jersey and with that, his image. Kobe's just fine. If you don't want to remain neutral and wait to see the outcome of the investigation, I....guess you have that option. With that misplaced and strange emotion, I'm sure you can do a lot more good redirecting it somewhere useful.
  5. No mention of how we're stuck with SAM ROSEN for the rest of the preseason?
  6. What we have is an accusation of rape and that is it. Nothing else. I do agree with Sammy Sofa that Kane has demonstrated foolish behavior in the past and is capable of almost anything. But if one is to remain neutral in the case, you can't come to a conclusion that he's capable of rape. Also Sammy Sofa says that nobody forgot about Kobe's sexual assault case yet all the large financial numbers certainly point to that being false along with his jersey sales. Kobe is still worshiped like a god in California.
  7. no way. The only possible way is if it somehow comes out that this was a blatant money grab and the DA actually presses charges the other way. But if he does return he'll have a few douchebags MRA types that will stand and cheer but most people will be standoffish for a long time. You underestimate meatball fans. I bet he would get a standing O. In what format? If he somehow beats the charges, he's getting an ovation as long as he wears the Hawks sweater. Especially if he comes out for the opening ceremony.

  9. A blogger who only has 3500 followers? What is the Bear Report? A pay only Bears blog on scout.com that covers the team (from his mom's basement) better than just about anywhere else. Especially in TC. Correct

  11. Why do you keep harping on this Goldman thing? I haven't heard anything since he had to come out of that one practice. Reports yesterday were that he's looking great and disruptive. I think the White thing will end up being no big deal but I'm not totally unconcerned about it. Nevertheless, I'm really curious/excited to see the new defense and what type of impact that coaching upgrade will have. I'm also interested to see what Gase does with this offense. There's a lot of talent still. Replace Marshall with (obviously questionable at the moment) White and throw in Royal and this is otherwise the same offense that people were talking about being loaded with talent last year. Wasn't Goldman also pulled in OTAs for Dehydration? What reports did you read saying he was great and disruptive? I thought he was yanked twice so far this training camp?
  12. This has to be the most muted upcoming Bears season I can remember. I'm struggling to find something exciting about this team aside from the coaching schemes changing. Now with Kevin White going to likely be out for at least another week and Goldman always being dehydrated is this team going to be watchable?
  13. Is Goldman practicing? Sounds like hes been out of shape and not practicing.
  14. Kevin White's injury has to be somewhat serious. He was out for 6 weeks total (little to no cardio training?) and now missing training camp time? Maybe a fracture of his shin is my guess.
  15. That's what you arrived to after reading my post? Lawl Ok how about just an 'above average' draft with multiple impact starters?
  16. I can appreciate your concern with my mental state, but please know I'm perfectly happy and content with knowing that the Bears need more drafts in order to have any kind of championship window. It's been too long since we had an A+ draft. I appreciate your friendship Mr. Sofa.
  17. If Kyle is being a meatball your statement is being an imbecile. It is an incredibly stupid sentiment. Nope. They're looking to keep their young prospects and allow them to develop with time. Why sell the farm for a rental or an older vet that has a 2-4 year shelf life? That's completely reasonable to me.
  18. OK! See you next year then! Oh no, no. I'll be here ALL season long. I wouldn't want you to miss me too much.
  19. The Cubs are in the playoff race and after several years of being told we'd be aggressive when we're competitive, it's looking like we may get a 1-WAR fifth starter while every other NL contender got more. If that's how it plays out, I think disappointment is in order. Have fun living that life, dude. He's totally right. Going to be very disappointed if nothing of note gets done. THIS is when you need to add guys and take risks to improve your chances. Disagree. And Kyle is being a meatball. The Cubs haven't wavered from their long term approach. Why trade assets for what's likely at best a 1 game playoff type of season? Let the young hitters develop, especially in their first season and come back next year with the window then being wide open. I wouldn't want to sell the farm for Price (who's likely a FA anyway after this year) or Hamels. Save the assets to either develop or trade for a #1 starter once the window for winning a title is clearly open.
  20. 5 or 6 win team this year.
  21. I don't think that is their plan. It's obvious Bulls management thinks they can continue to compete with the Cavs for the title. They are wrong.
  22. cuz 'trending' Because you're taking the glass if half empty view on every single player. It's completely reasonable to view it in a less then optimistic light. The Bulls aren't contenders for the foreseeable future. (Likely 2 years when Rose/Noah/Pau go away) Then we're back to praying upon ping pong balls and hoping the surly front office can lure a big name free agent. Welcome to NBA hell. The Bulls' success isn't hinged on Gasol and Noah; it's hinged on Butler, Rose and Mirotic. Why you're assuming they're just going to sit pat and simply wait to shed players, especially when the cap is going to exploding, only makes sense in the tedious context of literally every post of yours about the Bulls being some variation of your "basketball hell" bellyaching. We get it; you think the Bulls are eternally doomed and anything short of a championship is an absolute failure to you. What about the past allows you to see this as optimistic? Cap space means nothing as Chicago hasn't landed #1 type free agent since........never? I dont see a championship window opening until we get that big time player. Sprinkling shooters around Rose/Butler/Mirotic won't do anything if Rose doesn't go back to 2010 form. The goal is to beat Lebron and the Bulls have never proved it, even when his team was crumbling around him. The Cavs opening day roster will be better then last years. Call it pessimistic, I think its a proven viewpoint that is aided by the Bulls past history.

  24. Late to the Saad fallout but I actually like the trade Stan made. He had to do something so he decided to collect a stud prospect and a good #2 Center for Saad who only has had one 20 goal season while playing with 2 hall of famers. The Hawks sold high.
