  1. Yeah Chandler Jones was a late riser and much was made of his family and the fact he's got two brothers in professional sports. Despite that he at least had the size/speed to be a 3 down DE. Some think Shea is even lighter then the 255 he's listed at. I wonder if Emery thought of him purely as a situational rusher or if he actually believed he could be a full time starter. I too wanted Hill over Alshon, but I loved Alshon's hands.
  2. It was his first draft pick, and it sucked, no doubt. But it looks like he might've hit a home run with the Kyle Long pick, another one that was....debated. Plus there's been some good non-first round picks as well. If we're holding Emery accountable for a bad pick, he's got to get credit for the good ones as well. The Long pick is different. Long was regarded as the next best pick at the Guard position. While he was drafted too early, he wasn't asked to make a position switch or to change his body type to be successful. However, if you're a fan of the BPA approach, Emery failed here too because Sharrif Floyd would a clear cut top 10 pick that fell and Dline was still a need. Also it's safe to say that the 2012 draft as a whole was pretty bad. Alshon is the only saving grace and if he somehow doesn't turn out to be an above average player, then the draft class would be an utter disaster. Isaiah Frey has a chance to be a good starting CB. Based on what? He had a great training camp since being waived and brought back on the practice squad and hasn't really stood out as a nickel although I'm not sure if that is a good or bad thing. He had a few really bad missed tackles last night.
  3. Emery was brought in to end the dark age of Angelo drafting. There are only 2 players worth a damn left over from the 2012 draft in Jeffrey and Frey. My comment was implying that it should be simply be noted that he had an awful first draft during a time that we desperately needed good young talent. Who are you wanting to note this that isn't? I'm responding to N&G's confusion over whether I'm demanding Emery's head after 2 drafts.
  4. Emery was brought in to end the dark age of Angelo drafting. There are only 2 players worth a damn left over from the 2012 draft in Jeffrey and Frey after ONE year. Without looking I'll wager that we're the only team with only 3 players remaining from that draft with the 6 (?) picks we had. My comment was implying that it should be simply be noted that he had an awful first draft during a time that we desperately needed good young talent.
  5. Stop trolling.

  7. The problem is he's 1 move and stonewalled 95% of the time. Once a lineman puts hands on him, he doesn't have the strength to fight off the block. I think he can be a 3-4 OLB, but that is exactly why Emery should be held accountable for making a shitty draft pick. Chandler Jones or Mercilus were the clear cut picks at that position.
  8. Sooo do we make a trade for a decent body on the Dline or do we risk the chance of giving up 30+ points a game here on out to good teams? Rodgers is gonna feast on our D
  9. I thought for sure he was going to have a monster game after that first half. Of course, hitting on either of those deep balls to Alshon would've helped a lot. BTW, WTF was that play call on 3rd and 4 when we were hitting the short passes pretty much at will the entire game? There were a few bizarre calls from Trestman, no question He runs the ball like a hipster And Emery drafts like one.
  10. First 3 picks in the 2014 Draft could be Dline and I wouldn't blink.
  11. We shoulda been up at least 14
  12. I'm not even that happy. Jennings gets the easiest picks
  13. I would just run Jacobs 5 straight times. Stupid Bears can't stop it
  14. Shea can't set the edge, anchor, pass rush or pressure the QB
  15. Thanks for picking Shea, Phil. Guy hasn't had a positive play tonight
  16. Man we need the bye week. Christ wtf
  17. How bad would it be for a turnover here
  18. FU refs. Bears gonna choke this??
  19. We're approaching the 3-4 by necessity zone Given the number of defensive free agents, LB depth and Mel Tucker's experience with the 3-4, I think they make the switch this offseason. We don't have anyone on the roster except Shea (I guess) to run the 3-4
  20. Good thing Emery made the hipster pick in Shea Mac. He looks god awful
  21. Just stop Victor Cruz and we should win this game rather easily. Also, Old Style needs to have his internet turned off.
  22. Wtf is this [expletive] Stupid [expletive] Bears. Gotta be top 5 dumbest franchise in the nfl
