Well he was gonna sit Jones no matter what. Hes using Blanco for better defense and throwing arm in case the Sox run on us. The only head scratcher, is having Neifi in the game, and having Hairston in the game. I'd rather see Bynum and Mabry.

Thanks goes out to Bruce Miles to really being the top notch writer every sports fan should get for their team. The Cubs will continue to flounder until somebody takes responsibility for the sucky teams that are run out there every year.

What did you expect a no-hitter? It's his first game back. Relax. Well, if he was ready to come back I would expect a little more than that, but I was just talking in generalities of how bad this team is. As usual the Messiah has a high pitchcount early in the game and is getting battered around this is Kerry's MO. He will probably settle down but he always seems to have one or two bad innings early in games. Career ERA of 3.67, ERA+ of 116. Obviously he doesn't always have one or two bad innings a game. It's his first game back. Everybody warned that he would not be perfect, he's shown signs of dominance, but can't be expected to be 100% right now. If he shows no signs of improvement in the coming games then you can start complaining, but this isn't that big of a deal. he wont be 100% because he'll be on the DL again in 3 weeks.

So you think Larry, Jim, Dusty and the pitcher gather around a video machine and breakdown mechanics. Then what's the point of a pitching coach? If you admit they were overused then you have to admit that part of the later problems was likely due to that overuse. There's no such thing as overuse if it doesn't have repercussions. The repercusion is problems down the road, which those guys obviously suffered. I think changing a pitcher is definitely a group thing when the pitcher makes 8-12 mill a season or has the ceiling of a Prior. They were overused in 2002-2003, but NOT during 04 and 05.

Brenly is actually really funny when the team is sucking. He makes so many snide comments that often fly under the radar. I like Brenly. He easily sees the flaws of the team as a whole.
