  1. I just had a funny thought of Fielder diving into the front row of the stands catching that ball "Jeter-esque" and hurting many innocent fans.
  2. if he pitched to contact without trying to k people, i bet he'd put up worse numbers That last batter was a good example. He worked it to a 3-2 count, by trying to hit those corners, instead of maybe throwing him a fastball when its 2-2, and getting him to bite. I don't know, a guy like sheets gets his K's, but he never walks people. I think he might have a better approach then Z. zambrano isn't ben sheets. Thats fairly obvious, but don't you think that all the successful pitchers in history have similar mental concepts of getting hitters out? I'm a huge fan of Z, but there's a reason why he hasen't approached an elite Cy Young status type of pitcher. I think one of the reasons, is his mental approach to the game.

  4. Z needs to learn to pitch to contact. Hes ALWAYS trying to strike people out. If he could pitch to contact, he'd last longer in games, thus getting better numbers.
  5. I'm liking DeRosa. Guy seems really solid, hopefully he keeps it up all season.
  6. this thread is too positive for a Cubs fan. CUBS SUCK!!!
  7. Valentine and Dunn kill us EVERY FREAKING TIME!!!!!
  8. terrible baseball game......this team looks horrible.
  9. He got lifted for Theriot, because Cubs used Theriot to steal 2nd base for the go-ahead run. It was a good move in my opinion. This is the same guy that ran into an out at 3rd, right? Maybe it was a good move, but Murton's a pretty good hitter and not exactly Cecil Fielder when it comes to speed. Did we really need to burn through another hitter on our already rather short bench for that? I vote no. Murton would have clogged up the basepaths. these dusty quotes will never die
  10. Typical hopeful inning. We get a break, only to blow it the on the next PA why would you swing at a pitch when the pitcher hasent proven to throw a strike?
  11. Didn't he just rob Jones of an XBH this inning? Blind squirrel moment. LOL sidenote: WHY RONNY?
  12. god this is gonna be a terrible loss today.
  13. BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. 2005 type choking going on here. This is freaking horrible baseball.
