This can't be said enough. The Cubs are currently last in the league in number of walks taken, while being near the top (currently 4th) in walks allowed by pitchers. Over the off-season you heard a lot about lack of fundamentals, team speed, lack of clutch hitting, etc. But ultimately, the problem with this franchise, carried over from last year, is that they simply refuse to recognize the value of a walk. It's about to get even worse with Lee out.
