  1. Two solid innings by the kid thus far. Keep it up Marshall.
  2. Good inning Marshall. Now set the table and get on base, Pierre.
  3. My, my, tension is very high today in the game thread.
  4. I like the lineup. Maybe Jones will continue his "hot" streak. Let's go Cubs!
  5. Nice to see the Bears have a lot of options in this draft. I'm not sure what I want the Bears to do, but hopefully Angelo can continue his string of getting good players in rounds 2,3,4.
  6. It's certainly gonna be interesting what Dusty does today.
  7. Obviously the best way for him to stop the booing is to perform. Hopefully he starts hitting consistently so that we don't have to boo him.
  8. I would be pretty disapointed if Cedeno didn't start today. I would like Hairston at second base, also. Man, oh man, it would be great to steal this game. Come on Cubs!
  9. Pujols looked like an idiot when he flipped his bat. If I was the pitcher, I would have at least brushed him back his next at bat. And the Zambrano thing is a totally, unrelated situation. For one, Zambrano did NOT have anything personal against these batters. And bringing up Zambrano on a CUBS board is probably not the best thing to do anyways. Pujols had a personal vendetta against that pitcher, and he acted like a damned fool when he hit a homer. I guess he doesn't realize that some pitchers think it's a big thing when they get the greatest hitter and human being alive out. To me it seems Albert is a little oversensative.
  10. He'll turn 28 in the preseason. If all they can get is a 3rd round, then no way should they trade him. He's a starting RB, not a nickel back. There are several teams on the bottom half of the rushing list who fancy themselves as contenders and could be in need of a quality runner. I wonder if Dallas Clark's name has entered the talks between CHI and IND. I think we wont be able to trade him for more than a 3rd. No one wanted to trade for Edge or S. Alexander last year for a second. Of course, Jones contract status is a little more appealing than the other two, but he'll probably ask for a new contract. Jones doesn't have a lot of bargaining room here. He's getting up there in age and he probably would destroy his earning potential by sitting out a year (If he decides to hold out). I'm all for trading him if we can get a second. Third round picks are generally useless (With some exceptions) so I'd hesitate in that case. Benson and Peterson both looked decent in limited action last year. I think they could carry the load. Our running backs should be even better next year with a potent passing game.
  11. Career at Wrigley Field: ERA W L G GS CG Sho 1.01 2 0 4 4 0 0 IP H R ER K BB K/9 BB/9 K/BB IBB HR 26.0 23 3 3 23 7 7.76 2.36 3.29 0 0 HB WP Avg. A WHIP 3 0 .242 1.13 Pretty impressive at Wrigley Field, unfortunately. Thing that stands out to me is the zero homers in 26 innings pitched. Hopefully the Cubs put an end to that tonight.

  13. No, I only keep numbers on CUBS players. Alright thanks. Looks like I'll do a little research on this.
  14. Fred, do you have Dontrelle's career statistics against the Cubs?
  15. I see Ramirez's career against Willis does not include one of my all time favorite memories of the Cubs- his grand slam in the first in game 4. Hopefully he can replicate it tomorrow. Go Cubs!
  16. Was this game on WGN tonight? If it was it must not have been on the Superstation, which is pretty weird. I'm just glad I got to watch it on ESPN.
  17. Last I heard is that he does it weekly. Excellent. It was always great listening to him while working in the summer.
  18. Does anyone know if Dempster still does a Friday radio morning show on Mike North? I don't like Mike North, but Dempster was always great.
  19. Can someone explain to me why the people over at Bears.com on the messageboard seems to think that Thomas Jones is gone? Am I missing something. By the way, if anyone knows of a Bears message board better than the Bears one, please let me know.
  20. My, my, my how things change. :D
  21. I love Dempster. Especially when's getting save after save.
