  1. I like Lou, but not bunting with Z and then taking him out were both mistakes.
  2. Southpaw19 posted the Cubs lineup earlier in this thread (he heard it on the Score). The Diamondbacks lineup was posted on a ChicagoSports.com blog yesterday: LF Alfonso Soriano SS Ryan Theriot 1B Derrek Lee RF Cliff Floyd 3B Aramis Ramirez CF Jacque Jones 2B Mark DeRosa C Geovany Soto P Carlos Zambrano CF Chris B. Young SS Stephen Drew LF Eric Byrnes 1B Tony Clark 3B Mark Reynolds RF Jeff Salazar C Chris Snyder 2B Augie Ojeda P Brandon Webb Wow. Seriously, even with Webb on the hill I'm starting to think the Cubs win tonight. That's a playoff lineup?
  3. MLB has to be thrilled with the markets/teams in the playoffs. While it's not perfect in their minds, it's close (a perfect world would likely also include the Mets, Dodgers and Giants*). Among the eight teams you have the No. 1 TV market (New York), No. 2 (Los Angeles), No. 3 (Chicago), No. 4 (Philadelphia), No. 7 (Boston), No. 12 (Phoenix), No. 17 (Cleveland) and No. 18 (Denver). So, you have the top four markets (even if the Dodgers are the top team in the No. 2 market) and five of the top seven. Plus, the Yankees, Cubs and Red Sox may be the three most popular teams. *Obviously, not all three of those mentioned could make it in addition to the Cubs and Phillies.
  4. Less than 4. I'm seriously gonna die waiting.
  5. I likely would've gone with Monroe over Fontenot and Marshall over Marquis. But neither are big complaints. I'm ecstatic that Soto is catching game one.
  6. I have pretty strong feelings/opinions on the NL, but am torn on every AL series (current or potential). Here goes: Red Sox over Angels in 5 Indians over Yankees in 5 Cubs over D-Backs in 4 Phillies over Rockies in 4 Indians over Red Sox in 7 Phillies over Cubs in 5 Indians over Phillies in 6
  7. Waiting is killing me. Today: Corporations 9:50-10:45 Evidence 2:20-3:15 American Legal History 4:30-5:25. Tomorrow, same thing. Good thing is, tomorrow night is the start of my weekend. That's right only three days of classes. Can't beat life as a 3L. That said, hurry up and get here Cubs game!
  8. Yeah well didn't BP predict the White Sox would have a terrible year this year? I didn't even see that one coming. So I'm going with BP on this one. If memory serves, they predicted the Sox to go 72-90. The Sox record? 72-90.
  9. Bachelor party Saturday night, hopefully can catch parts at the bar. Other than that, should be able to see them all.
  10. My Dad's a Dodger fan so I will feel sorry for him. However, this is unbelievably hilarious. Colleti's idiocy knows no bounds. Hahaha, Colleti and Dusty in a franchise loaded with young talent. Hahahahah.
  11. The Hoosiers will do that to you. Just, generally, they do it to their own fans.
  12. Go Cubs!!! This will be a tough one against Webb. Oh, and 31 decisions for Zambrano is a ton.
  13. I'll say Cubs in four. I feel confident, much like 2003 against the Braves. However, just like 2003, I don't expect the Cubs to win the NLCS if they make it.
  14. I was going to post this week that I wasn't sure if USC-Washington was really a mismatch. I should've, now it's lame hindsight. My live-in is an USC grad so I watch all their games and they struggle on the road in the Pac-10 recently. And Washington is improved.
  15. HUGE win for Indiana. They are now 4-1, 1-1 and in prime bowl position. It'd actually be a big surprise if they don't make one at this point -- knocking on wood, IU would be the team that could blow it. Illinois is looking good. Hey, I called the winner of Indiana-Illinois would be the surprise Big Ten team. Maybe they both can be.
  16. PLAYOFFS!!!!!! I'm contributing not as a drunken happy poster, but as a hungover happy poster. Last night was awesome.
  17. You suck, whoever you are. Shut up.
  18. Being fiscally responsible -- which the Cubs aren't -- has absolutely nothing to do with winning in the playoffs or if last year's Cardinals or this year's Cubs are better.
