  1. Out for the Colts: WR Marvin Harrison, LT Tony Ugoh, and LB's Freddy Keiaho and Tyjuan Hagler. Everyone will focus on Harrison, but the other losses are killers. In fact, they may miss Ugoh more than Harrison. He's been outstanding in run-blocking and backup Charlie Johnson has been a near revolving door the past couple games pass-blocking. I'm very concerned about the spot and linebacker. The Colts are really banged up, which isn't good against a team like the Pats.
  2. I sat in the second row on the 50-yard line for Michigan-Purdue. For Free. Amazing weekend.
  3. I refuse to believe this is true. Surely, surely not. After my initial shock, I can now not stop laughing. Steve Trachsel. Wow.
  4. I doubt you get toasted for that. Theriot's really not good, despite whatever "grit" he may possess. If the Cubs can't land a big-time SS, I'll hope for Cedeno to figure things out and supplant Theriot.
  5. Terrible article. Ramirez was the team's best offensive player this season. Also, he's actually improved his "hustle" and such; he certainly hasn't regressed in that regard. His defense has improved greatly since coming over from the Pirates, another sign of hard work.[/i]
  6. Indiana is #29 and #33. Pretty good.
  7. Most of which is propped up by 2 doubles coming against the Cubs in 2003. i don't believe in clutch, but i believe in choking. and lee looks terrified out there. it's pathetic. Yes, this.
  8. This is actually the worst day of my life not involving death/deadly illness Game 7. 2003. Game 5, 1984. I thought game 6 was way worse. Me too. The game 7 loss was totally expected after the game 6 disaster.
  9. Yeah, the line pretty much serves as an objective standard. It's not a subjective call, bud.
  10. Exactly what I was thinking. If he could catch another hot streak, he could practically carry the Cubs to the, well, you know.
  11. Can't ask for more than hitting it on the screws, especially against a top tier pitcher. No batter will hit the ball hard for an entire season but have nothing to show for it but it can happen over the course of one game (or 5 games, even). Things even out over the course of a season and the numbers will be a good reflection. No one was awarding anything about effort, just commenting that the Cubs had some good swings on the ball but, sadly, they were at fielders. It does matter how it happens if you want to improve from game to game and work on fixing problems Exactly. Hitting the ball hard is all you can ask of a batter. In fact, if somehow a batter did hit the ball hard every at bat the whole season but hit .000, I'd bring him back the next year.
  12. sosa went .308/.455/.577 in the nlcs. nice try though. One series? Well, considering he only played in three playoff series with the Cubs and only one LCS, I'd say those numbers are pretty relevant.
  13. sosa went .308/.455/.577 in the nlcs. nice try though. Dude, give it up. He obviously sucks; I don't care what nine random digits you post. you guys are right, this loss was obviously sammy's fault Yup. Every Cubs loss ever is Sammy's fault.
  14. sosa went .308/.455/.577 in the nlcs. nice try though. Dude, give it up. He obviously sucks; I don't care what nine random digits you post.
  15. No. The Cubs' best was already in the game. you people sure weren't saying that a month ago. or even 3 weeks ago. Wasn't me. I've never stopped saying Z's the Cubs best pitcher. Regardless, it's irrelevant. Today, Z was lights-out.
  16. Ward was the best pinch-hitter on the team this year. I wouldn't take down Ramirez for him, though.
  17. If that's the case he obviously had no choice. Otherwise, it was a poor decision.
