  1. LeMahieu ended up 3-5 w/ a SB, 2 RBI, and E.
  2. DJ LeMahieu has 2 more hits and also made his first error at SS.
  3. Stoney can't let it go. From his twitter: first this - "To all the people who believe who believe that david kaplan and i made up the bradley story---get a life. Trade deadline rumors are not new." then "The giants need a hitter to make a run at the wildcard. Word out is that the nats nick johnson might fill their needs. Chase that down bruce"
  4. Lake!!! (and he can thank Ridling for that total not being over 30) I thought about including him, but I wasn't sure how high his total was since he's played 2b and SS, and I am too lazy to look up stats right now haha
  5. It's not all that uncommon to see high error totals for SS's in the lower levels. Actually, all of our SS's have quite a few this season (Castro, Lee, etc)
  6. And his 4th error! And his 5th.
  7. I had heard good things about his defense, so it wasn't a big surprise that he was getting the bulk of the PT at SS...so it just made me curious if Lee's talent was the reason Watkins wasn't playing SS, or if the Cubs see him as a better fit at 2b.
  8. Where does Watkins project, defensively? I know he's playing a lot of 2b, but is that just because Lee is at SS for Boise, or is it because Watkins is likely to end up at 2b?
  9. 4 if you count blanco as a 2b
  10. Can he play 2b well enough? Or is he going to be strictly a corner IF guy?
  11. best post ever
  12. This is true. But it's fun to have a discussion on a completely moot point. :) No argument there. It's why we're all here, because no matter how much we discuss what we should do, or what should be done with the Cubs, we ultimately have little to no impact other than by providing ticket money.
  13. Yeah. It's really clear that if we were to return him, he'd have to pass through waivers. I just don't get why if he were to stay on our roster, and we were to offer the rockies a player in exchange for him right now, while he's on the roster, why he'd have to pass through waivers.
  14. Yeah, those rules are very vague in that regard. I'm so confused.
  15. Fair enough. I figured it had to do with him being a big K guy, and his overall terrible minor league numbers. He did show flashes last year, though.
  16. So wait, if he were still on our roster like he is, he wouldn't have to clear waivers for us to make the trade and keep him, correct?
  17. Thank you. Some guy on the cubs.com board (that may explain it) is basically telling me I'm wrong, but I could have swore that we could work out a trade for him and just keep him.
  18. This came up on another board, and I can't remember the rules regarding this. The Cubs could offer a player to the Rockies in exchange for Patton and he'd be ours (without the rule 5 restrictions), right? Basically we could trade for him without him going through waivers or anything, correct? Or am I way off base here?
  19. Just kind of a random question, but why did the Cubs convert Dylan Johnston to Pitcher? I know he has a good arm, but he hit really well last year, at an age-appropriate level. I know he was off to a miserable start this year, but I would think a guy who showed as much pop (15 HRs in >300 ABs in Peoria) as he did would be given a little more of a chance. He had very comparable numbers to Vitters through roughly the same # of ABs at Peoria, although he was 2 years older at the time. Still, a line of .288/.349/.524 w/ 15 HRs and 50 RBIs last year seems very respectable. Granted, the rest of his career had been pretty lousy.
  20. The two together might be a bit too redundant, unless they wanted to platoon them. It'd also take away most of the power on our bench. I'd only trade one of the two - preferably Fox. I'd much rather trade Hoffpauir. Fox can play the positions Micah plays, and he's probably a better hitter too. Not to mention, he's younger, and can backup 3b. We'd probably get more for Fox, though.
  21. Good moves by the Cubs. I liked Hart up as the long man more so than Samardzija, but I'll take it.
  22. Castro was 2-4 with a 2b, R, RBI. Cales picked up his 10th save, 1.1 IP, 1 H, 1 K, 0 BB. Blair Springfield was 3-4 with a run scored. Justin Bour was 3-3 with a Grand Slam and 2 BB. Richard Jones hit another HR.
  23. Jackson with another hit and a walk for the AZL Cubs. He also K'd twice, which gives him 4 in 11 ABs at the rookie league level (to 3 BB). Blair Springfield got his first two professional hits, one of them being a triple.
