the bears have tons of beat guys (bigger than any other sports team i can really think of) and a huge media ecosystem in general. i've never lived in the market but the amount the average bears fans knows about the local sports talk radio/pundit class is absolutely unparalleled (defamatory). they talk about caleb literally everyday on get up, first take, the herd, blah blah blah. the appetite for bears coverage is ravenous. so all those people with a vested interest missed this career defining story and let some substacker scoop them?

yeah division got tougher this year but I’m glad the bears didn’t give up huge draft capital to hand out a huge contract to a non qb and chances are good that this won’t work out for gb

we've been a .500 ball club in the aggregate since 2019 so the "peak" is basically the first couple of months of this season out of the last 5-6 years with probably the biggest divisional resource advantage in a big 4 sport
