  1. It would just be delicious irony if Texas fans had to shut their collective mouths about head to head being the deciding factor if Tech won the Big XII. And I happen to agree that Tech really shouldn't jump Texas under any circumstances. It'd still be funny.
  2. My GOD. Pac-10 refs are f***ing incompetent. Absolutely atrocious.
  3. Pac-10 ref bufoonery in full effect. Masoli clearly fumbles it and it's returned for a TD but it looks like they wrongly blew it dead.
  4. Jimmy is going to get killed out there.
  5. This announcer on Versus for the UO/OSU game sounds like Marv Albert. I'm expecting "Oh Beautiful move by Masoli" and "Moevao with the deep pass...YES!" tonight.
  6. Man, it would be truly comical if Okie State beats OU. Imagine that happening and Tech going on to win the Big XII title...the backpedaling done by Texas fans of head-to-head being the end-all, be-all factor for championship games would create another Dust Bowl.
  7. I don't really know what to say. Saying Tebow has excellent accuracy goes against any form of common sense or video evidence. Are we watching the same quarterback? Tebow will not grade out high in accuracy by any NFL scout.
  8. He's more than an average passer. He has solid above average arm strength, but you're really shorting him with the accuracy. He has excellent accuracy in the short to middle passing game. He has good accuracy on the deep ball as well. He has enough arm strength to make all the out throws. He's not the best pure passer in the country for the NFL (Stafford), but he's one of the top four or five easily. Couple that with his makeup, running skills and everything else and he's going to be a top two round pick, and for good reason. His delivery isn't ideal, but it's something he can work on. You're really selling him short on the accuracy though. That being said, he's not the best pure passing prospect on his team, but he's the best quarterback prospect. The position is changing and its changing in the NFL slowly and surely. Tebow most certainly does not grade out as having excellent accuracy. That's utterly ridiculous. I'll give you above average arm strength--still a slow delivery. He is not a great pure passing prospect. That would mean if here not mobile/prototypically sized he'd be one of the top prospects. That's obvoiusly not true.
  9. Kodi Burns is really bad.
  10. We all know Tebow is great but there's really no reason to pretend he's anyting more than average as a passer. Slow delivery, average accuracy, and his arm is good but not off the charts. He's a middle of hte road prospect as an NFL QB.
  11. That's pretty awful containment by the Yellow Jackets.
  12. GT just left a possible touchdown on the field when that TE on the backward decided to dance instead of plowing ahead for an easy first down. Dumb.
  13. Isn't Moreno a true sophomore?
  14. This year's Apple Cup was life altering entertainment. ASU and UCLA are just so...medicore in every conceivable way.
  15. UCLA and ASU are freaking boring.
  16. I've got to believe Kiffin wanted to have offensive playcalling duties at any position he took.
  17. Yes, what we really need is a proven BCS game product in OU. We know they always show up in January. I admire your use of the strawmen. BIG GAME BOB.
  18. Yes, what we really need is a proven BCS game product in OU. We know they always show up in January.
  19. Go Fighting T. Boone's.
  20. The jealousy of the SEC in this thread is sickening. Just because you clowns don't realize that the SEC should be moved into its own special division of the NFL (given the extraordinary SEC SPEED) doesn't mean you need to act embittered.
  21. As for Lane himself, I wasn't his biggest fan (in fact I was a fairly large detractor) during his tenure at SC. My expectations were probably out of whack given that he followed Chow and had oodles of talent to work with. But comparing him to Sarkisian, who I think is very average, he had a good philosophy and he definitely wasn't afraid to push the envelope. He loves the big play. At the same time, I wouldn't hold anything he did in Oakland against him too much. He had the team playing hard and somewhat inspired football. The end of his tenure got a little ridiculous with the Al Davis sideshow. Honestly, he came out smelling like a rose. He'll be able to attract a lot of talent and if the staff is as good as it sounds, it's a good hire. It's not without its risks but turning around a moribund program like Tennessee probably requires a ballsy hire. You're not going to get the program where you expect it to be with a retread, IMO.
  22. Wow, the Kiffin boys and Coach O would be an absolutely top notch brain trust for Tennessee. Outside of Pete, no one did more than Coach O to turn USC into a recruiting juggernaught. And to get Pete's mentor (as well as Dungy and Lovie's) as defensive coordinator would be huge. If you're a top notch high school defensive player how could you not want to play under Monte Kiffin? Has there ever been anyone who could play the "I can get you into the NFL" card more effectively than him in the college ranks?
  23. I mostly agree with this. Either Notre Dame has horrible luck by getting highly rated players that every other top program covets and having them not pan out or the staff in place hasn't been able to develop the talent properly. I'm inclined to believe it's the latter.
  24. Whatever "schematic advantage" Weis promised has obviously been proven to be a complete sham. Weis gets recruits but he can't develop talent. Then the problem is compounded by putting his players in a position to fail. They make egregious blunders in basic execution and fundamentals (blocking, tackling, route running, etc.) so they don't do any of the little things to help them stay competitive with teams that have superior talent. I think Clausen and his receivers have a lot of ability but it seems from my perspective that he's given a lot of NFL type throws (and he CAN impressively stick 15 yard outs and other NFL throws) to make when he would operate better in a quick hitting, up tempo scheme ala Oklahoma or Texas Tech. I do recognize the team is young but the requisite improvement hasn't been there. Yes, if your measuring stick is set at last year, then they have improved. But, talent wise, they should be better than almost every team on their schedule besides USC. So they've gone from abysmally bad last year to a situation this year where I think they've regressed quite a bit as the season has gone on. He needs to go, IMO.
  25. The Chargers lead the NFL ins hilarious ways to lose a football game.
