  1. From what I remember they would've been 3 for 3 on 3rd and 15+ if Brees didn't short arm a ball to Lance Moore when he was completely wide open. The other two were completions on square ins to Colston that were wide open as well.
  2. The sentiment that Hester is done as a return man is mind boggling. He's turning into an effective receiver based almost solely on his athleticism and speed (because god knows his route running is WAYYYYYY under developed for this level and his hands aren't great either). He has an incredible lack of experience for a #1 receiver in the NFL, he doesn't understand much in coverages, and he needs a ton more seasoning. The fact that he's still effective as a receiver tells me he's not "done" as a return man. He clearly still has the athletic chops for it.
  3. What is off base about saying Hester was a weapon tonight?
  4. Do we get extra points for degree of difficulty?
  5. I wonder how much of the ineffectiveness of the Saints passing game can be attributed to the weather and field conditions because outside of 3rd and very long, our secondary has looked great.
  6. Lingering pain from a frightening injury sustained while putting Kim Kardashian's ass into a girdle.
  7. Agreed, but as I said earlier, there has been no good from special teams this season with Hester. Entire NFL franchises have gone decades without special teams return touchdowns. Hester was never, ever, ever going to live up to the ridiculous expectations everyone has of him as a return man.
  8. I just think the criticism was a little over the top. He's trying to make plays. In all fairness, he should have two long bombs for touchdowns. Barry Sanders lost yards on plays too. Reggie Bush does the same thing. You take the bad with the good with those type of talents.
  9. So is Hester still killing us out there?
  10. Maybe instead of piling on Hester some scorn should be directed at Orton for air mailing two easy throws on that drive.
  11. I'm not sure. What I do know is that kneejerkers will continue to conflate agents giving gifts to potential clients with boosters using gifts to lure recruits to their school--even though agents have a vested interest in keeping clients OUT of college.
  12. His stats are better than Maualuga. Who should have gotten it over Laurinaitis? That's mainly because of the system. OSU's scheme funnels everything to him. Laurinaitis is great at making tackles 5-10 yards down the field but he doesn't shed blocks very well, isn't going to dominate at the point of attack, and isn't going to make tons of plays in the passing game. He is not in the same universe as A.J. Hawk, Paul Pozlusny, or some other recent Big 10 linebackers.
  13. Is that 3 Big 10 defensive player of the year awards in a row for Laurinaitis? Most overrated linebacker I've ever seen.
  14. Yeah, the anguish over this is a little over the top, IMO. If it's July and we're playing well with Jake Peavy mowing down hitters in a Cubs uniform none of us will care that there were long, drawn-out negotiations back in November and December. And if we're not where we want to be it probably isn't anything Jake Peavy would've fixed on his own. This should be the best team in the division by a somewhat substantial margin Peavy or no Peavy.
  15. I'm in as SEC SPEED ROOLZ.
  16. I don't really like him either, but there's nothing wrong with resting your rookie PG with that big of a lead with that little amount of time left I don't like Rose playing 35-40 minutes a night. But unless the Bulls have a quality backup, it's prolly their only option. I don't think it's a problem if Rose plays 35-40 minutes a night. He should be able to handle it just fine. I'm sure there will be some games where he doesn't have his legs. That's the product of a long season...but nearly every high caliber player in the league plays 35-40 minutes. It shouldn't be an issue. Now if he's playing 44 minutes a night because we are just good enough to sneak in the playoffs (but only if we play Rose a ton) then that could be an issue.
  17. I wonder which OU streak will end first: Being on the beneficial side of every BCS controversy it's involved in or its losing streak in BCS games.
  18. Throughout the history of NCAA football, I think you'd be hard pressed to find a dominant offense (e.g. Oklahoma/Florida) or a dominant defense (e.g. USC) that has played a lot of highly ranked respective defenses or offenses. It's a total chicken or egg argument. It's a product of trying to compare statistics of a sport where 120 teams only play 10% of the total opponents. Things get skewed.
  19. Sanchez will be drafted higher than Tebow.
  20. I thought this was the worst USC team since 2001. They are still really good though. agreed, there worst offense in many years. Sanchez is just not a great QB. He has great tools, just hasn't put them all together. Sanchez is better than Booty. This team is better than the USC teams of the last two years. It's not even close.
  21. Seeing Ohio State get blown out in another BCS Bowl would make me a saaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaad panda. Seriously, has anyone learned their lesson with them yet? What is so great about Oklahoma's recent performances in BCS bowl games? If anything, they're even worse than Ohio State's.
  22. I believe it. There is nothing imaginative or revolutionary about OU's offense. Maybe it was revolutionary when Danny Wuerfel and Steve Spurrier were running it. Fast, athetlic defenses can slow this down.
  23. USC's defense wouldn't really have that much of a problem with OU's offense :)
  24. I thought Oher went to a school in Memphis.
  25. guys i have this explosive information about the auburn football program that i can't post on a chicago cubs messageboard hope you understand
