  1. [bitter] Yeah, somebody needs to beat Boston. They really annoy me. And it's not because I hate their players--besides Pierce. It's just disgusting how they went from garbage to all-time great over one offseason because Kevin McHale is such an abject failure as a general manager that he did a marvelous job of improving his old team rather than the one that currently employs him. Throw that in with the success of the Patriots and Sox and this is tough to swallow. If they break the 72 win mark I'll freak. [/bitter]
  2. Well we're staying competitive with Boston. Down 57-55 at the half after a nice offensive second quarter. Amazing that we're within two when Boston has 21 assists on 25 field goals in the first half alone. I'd be stunned if it's this close the rest of the way but we can dream...
  3. They are playing on January 1...conceivably Hazelton could give Penn State a lot of information if he transferred before then. Although I'm not sure how you guys know Carroll isn't letting Hazelton go to Penn State. What in the article says that? Maybe he just wants to go to Mizzou? he can give penn state a lot of information right now, as long as he owns a telephone or computer. I'll take outrageously flimsy reasoning for $800, Alex. you're the one with terrible reasoning. are you suggesting that he's not releasing him from his scholarship because he could give info to penn state? he's not on the usc football team any more; there's absolutely nothing stopping him from giving penn state inside info about usc, unless carroll is holding him in a jail cell through new year's day. Are we really going to have a discussion about why a player would be more inclined to give information to a team he's transferring to than a team he's not transferring to? It's not rocket science.
  4. Carroll let Moody transfer to Florida so I don't think there's anything specific about national title caliber programs that would stop him from letting a player transfer to one.

  7. OT again. Anyone know why Thomas only played 5 minutes? Did he get hurt or is Vinny yanking his minutes around again? He played well last night.
  8. Augustin takes 13 FTs and Rose takes 1. Hmm.
  9. Tyrus playing really well tonight. Just buried a nice jumper. Gooden continues to be a horrifyingly bad defender.
  10. Ugh, we better take this one down in OT.
  11. That's why they'll go and lose to a crappy Bobcats team tonight. It's practically preordained. On an unrelated note, Paul Pierce faking devastating knee injuries is getting kind of annoying. He did the same thing last night (got carried off the court by teammates) and ended up saying he was day to day afterwords.
  12. We need to find a legitimate backup running back this offseason. Peterson isn't serviceable in that role. It'd be great if we could find a guy who will give us a productive 8-10 carries a game and can play with Forte at the same time.
  13. Is the power of the Holy Spirit strong enough in Tebow to help him resist these harlots and jezebels?
  14. Pierre Thomas is a good player. Bush could learn a thing or two from him. Almost 3 years in and he still doesn't want to hit the hole. And it's not like Thomas has a huge size advantage over him. If you don't see the #23 you'd think it was Bush....their builds are very similar.
  15. If Boyd wants to play in a pro style offense why doesn't Kiffin think he's a fit? Tennessee is going to run the most pro style offense in the conference, probably.
  16. From what I remember they would've been 3 for 3 on 3rd and 15+ if Brees didn't short arm a ball to Lance Moore when he was completely wide open. The other two were completions on square ins to Colston that were wide open as well.
  17. The sentiment that Hester is done as a return man is mind boggling. He's turning into an effective receiver based almost solely on his athleticism and speed (because god knows his route running is WAYYYYYY under developed for this level and his hands aren't great either). He has an incredible lack of experience for a #1 receiver in the NFL, he doesn't understand much in coverages, and he needs a ton more seasoning. The fact that he's still effective as a receiver tells me he's not "done" as a return man. He clearly still has the athletic chops for it.
  18. What is off base about saying Hester was a weapon tonight?
  19. Do we get extra points for degree of difficulty?
  20. I wonder how much of the ineffectiveness of the Saints passing game can be attributed to the weather and field conditions because outside of 3rd and very long, our secondary has looked great.
  21. Lingering pain from a frightening injury sustained while putting Kim Kardashian's ass into a girdle.
  22. Agreed, but as I said earlier, there has been no good from special teams this season with Hester. Entire NFL franchises have gone decades without special teams return touchdowns. Hester was never, ever, ever going to live up to the ridiculous expectations everyone has of him as a return man.
  23. I just think the criticism was a little over the top. He's trying to make plays. In all fairness, he should have two long bombs for touchdowns. Barry Sanders lost yards on plays too. Reggie Bush does the same thing. You take the bad with the good with those type of talents.
  24. So is Hester still killing us out there?
  25. Maybe instead of piling on Hester some scorn should be directed at Orton for air mailing two easy throws on that drive.
