  1. Well he's not the best long distance spot up shooter--then again, I doubt there are many examples of one of the better 2 guards in the league being the best 3 point shooters. Those are almost always just role type guys. But Harden is definitely a good shooter and in terms of overall shooting ability (midrange, off the dribble, 3 point) he's ahead of all the other 2 guards I can think of. Henderson comes close maybe. But I like Henderson more than a lot of other guys too.
  2. I don't know where this idea that James Harden can't shoot is coming from. He's probably one of the 5 best shooters in the entire draft and certainly near the top among guys who project as more than spot up type guys.
  3. Uh, Phil you gotta go for the pin there buddy.
  4. Tiger and Phil having a choke off.
  5. Mickelson 1 stroke back after 6 birdies in the first 8 holes! Tiger just eagled and is 4 back. Phil hit one of the absolute best shots I've ever seen on the 7th hole.
  6. From the front page of tomorrow morning's New York Times. http://www.nytimes.com/2009/04/12/sports/baseball/12steroids.html?ref=todayspaper This Ramon Scruggs guy is a new name, no? E: Bloops, wrong link.
  7. Not out of the realm of possibility if one of them pulls a 65 or something out of their butt. Even then, if one of the top two go one under or better, which both have done in each of the three rounds, Tiger and Phil can't win. If they see Tiger charging up the leader board on Sunday you can bet their knees will be jello...even more than they already are. Although Perry doesn't seem like the guy to fold and Cabrera has already withstood Tiger at the U.S. Open in 2007.
  8. Not out of the realm of possibility if one of them pulls a 65 or something out of their butt.
  9. He's kind of a black hole once he gets the ball but he makes up for it by getting to the line and generally being a very efficient shooter.
  10. Gooz looked great when he initially came in and was painting the corners. Maybe it got into his head that he was exhibiting good control and just lost it from there. Cotts looks completely worthless.
  11. At least we ended the consecutive at bat on base streak by Hart. Moral victories.
  12. The Bradley at bat was the first time Dave Bush's pitching looked as good as his line did through the first 3 innings. Couple warning track shots but hopefully we're going to start squaring up this clown consistently. He's the epitome of "underwhelming."
  13. If Theriot had any sort of range he wouldn't have been any position where he felt compelled to go home instead of turning two. The fact that he was hurtling deep in the hole as he gloved the ball that was steps to his right is pretty bad.
  14. explain Questionable defensive decisions. Horrid basepath instincts. Below average range. Below average arm. okay, what questionable defensive decisions did he make today? and his defense has been evaluated as right around average by most defensive metrics, which doesn't mesh with your assessment. If Theriot is an average defensive shortstop then it's a Dark Age for defensive prowess at the position.
  15. It seems like Gregg lost focus as soon as he got the first out in the 9th and didn't get it back until Weeks hammered him. That Duffy at bat was just inexplicable.
  16. Never trust a man with two first names. Derrek Lee used to be the exception that proved the rule but now he's just part of the rule.
  17. with braun running? they had a better chance than they did at home. and weeks was definitely safe. The ball was deep in the hole. With Fatty running, maybe, but Braun, while not a speed demon, isn't the slowest guy in the world. It wasnt that deep, it would have been close at 1st It would've taken a perfect throw to 2nd just to get the first out and would've made for an incredibly difficult turn. The play was screwed up by Riot's lack of range as much as it was his lack of brains.
  18. The Cubs wouldn't have turned two if Theriot didn't go home. His momentum was carrying him towards 3rd because Theriot is such a horrific defender that he couldn't get in position to make what should've been a routine DP.
  19. I still think a good backup running back is a first day draft need.
  20. Vijay Singh, during a practice round, SKIPS the ball off the water on the par 3 16th at Augusta and makes an ace. I wish a there were a better quality video floating out around there. That's a ridiculous shot.
  21. 6'4 shooting guard with limited athleticism who isn't a great shooter. Any other year he'd be a late lotto pick, and no one projects greatness for guys drafted in that range I don't think anyone necessarily projects greatness for players that are taken in the top 5 either. It's a semantic argument but I see Roy/Ginobili type effectiveness (maybe more towards the Manu end of the spectrum) out of Harden. That's pretty damn good.
  22. Well his ceiling isn't out of this world but I don't see anyway Harden isn't a very good player in the NBA.
  23. Didn't watch the game but how does Brad Miller throw up a +18 in 23 minutes of play by going 1/10 from the field? Is this stat as meaningless as this would indicate?
  24. That and it was a quick ball game. I wonder if Z starts overall get a better rating because he works so fast. I know it helps me stay "in" the game more easily.
