  1. Never trust a man with two first names. Derrek Lee used to be the exception that proved the rule but now he's just part of the rule.
  2. with braun running? they had a better chance than they did at home. and weeks was definitely safe. The ball was deep in the hole. With Fatty running, maybe, but Braun, while not a speed demon, isn't the slowest guy in the world. It wasnt that deep, it would have been close at 1st It would've taken a perfect throw to 2nd just to get the first out and would've made for an incredibly difficult turn. The play was screwed up by Riot's lack of range as much as it was his lack of brains.
  3. The Cubs wouldn't have turned two if Theriot didn't go home. His momentum was carrying him towards 3rd because Theriot is such a horrific defender that he couldn't get in position to make what should've been a routine DP.
  4. I still think a good backup running back is a first day draft need.
  5. Vijay Singh, during a practice round, SKIPS the ball off the water on the par 3 16th at Augusta and makes an ace. I wish a there were a better quality video floating out around there. That's a ridiculous shot.
  6. 6'4 shooting guard with limited athleticism who isn't a great shooter. Any other year he'd be a late lotto pick, and no one projects greatness for guys drafted in that range I don't think anyone necessarily projects greatness for players that are taken in the top 5 either. It's a semantic argument but I see Roy/Ginobili type effectiveness (maybe more towards the Manu end of the spectrum) out of Harden. That's pretty damn good.
  7. Well his ceiling isn't out of this world but I don't see anyway Harden isn't a very good player in the NBA.
  8. Didn't watch the game but how does Brad Miller throw up a +18 in 23 minutes of play by going 1/10 from the field? Is this stat as meaningless as this would indicate?
  9. That and it was a quick ball game. I wonder if Z starts overall get a better rating because he works so fast. I know it helps me stay "in" the game more easily.
  10. Don't you have to be white to be gritty? fix't
  11. http://www.draftexpress.com/rankings/NCAA-Seniors/
  12. I think he's like Raymond Felton except better in almost every conceivable way. And Felton went 5th overall. Ford went in the top 10 too. He does differ from other short guys like Augustin or Nate Robinson in that he's not going to be much of a one-on-one scorer. But I think he's definitely a good starting PG on the pro level.
  13. Does Sosa suddenly not exist? who? Her?
  14. So how much has Lawson helped his stock with his play in the tourney? First point guard taken? He can flat out run a team and although his release is slow he's a dead eye set shooter. I think he's definitely a top 10 with an outside shot at top 5 depending on who declares and team need.
  15. I'm forgetting these "moments" Michael Haynes supposedly had.
  16. Somewhere, Skip Bayless whines about the transformation of the Basketball HoF into the "Hall of the Very Good."
  17. He's 36 and wanted a 3-4 year deal for big money. Well he had the 2nd best season of his career (starting wise) last season and the guy has been a lock for 32+ starts for awhile now. I think he's more likely to live up to his 4/60 deal than Dempster is to live up to his 4/52 deal even with age thrown in.
  18. Why did the Dodgers let Lowe go again?
  19. All 9 analysts on MLB Network picked the Cubs to win their division. I don't think anyone had anyone but the Cardinals or Brewers outside of the top 3 either.
  20. I can't believe Peanut is already coming into his 7th season in the league.
  21. Is there really any momentum to have the Cubs play in another area of Chicago? I figure that'd be almost as big an impediment as tearing down Wrigley itself.
  22. Yeah, Kellog has gone from "credit UNC's defense" to "Nova can't make crap" in short order. UNC's defense has been good but this is just a bricklaying convention.
  23. Im sorry but the "Big Ten honks" deserve to come out and talk some [expletive]. The Big 10 has been killed by every major sports journalist/tv commentator, and fans of all other major conference. Everybody all year wanted to kiss the Big Easts ass, and yet the Big Ten Champ manhandled the Big East Champ in Louisville, and took it too UConn. Plain and Simple. BIG EAST KILLERS! :D Well, I'm convinced. The Big 10 was better!
  24. Suton pretty blatanly undercut him. I don't know what you guys are talking about on that call. And...UConn blows it on transition D after tha monster put back.
