  1. McShay's 7 (!) round mock is out. He has the Bears taking: (49) Chicago Bears Derrick Williams WR Penn State (99) Chicago Bears (Compensatory) Corvey Irvin DT Georgia (119) Chicago Bears Captain Munnerlyn* DC South Carolina (140) Chicago Bears (from Denver through Seattle) Courtney Greene SS Rutgers (154) Chicago Bears Jonathan Luigs OC Arkansas (190) Chicago Bears Joel Bell OT Furman (246) Chicago Bears (compensatory) Mortty Ivy OLB West Virginia (251) Chicago Bears (compensatory) Phillip Hunt DE Houston I have to say I don't know much about most of these guys outside of Williams.
  2. I think the biggest difference between Rose and Francis is above the neck, not anything in their physical skill set.
  3. Well, that's what happens when you base your conclusions off a two-game sample size. Boston is a better team than the Bulls. They're not head and shoulders better than the Bulls without Garnet, but they're measurably better. I couldn't be happier about a 1-1 split with the game two loss coming on a last second shot. I would dispute the notion that they are measurably better--marginally better at best. You take the Celtics, sans KG, and project them over an 82 game schedule and you take the Bulls team that is out there now and I'd be hard pressed to say that the Celtics would win more ball games.
  4. I'm no longer looking at it as the Bulls "stealing" one on the road against Boston. You watch these last two games and you cannot come to any other conclusion that Boston, without KG, is AT BEST equal to the Bulls. From that perspective, losing this game hurts a lot. I'm pleased with how they played too but now you look at every long offensive rebound Boston was able to coral and Vinny's heinous handling of TOs as anything but completely inexcusable.
  5. How does Vinny not leave one more timeout at the end of regulation, AGAIN? That is [expletive] inexcusable.
  6. i think we've exhausted miller's usefulness in this game. Boston is still crashing the offensive glass. Thomas in OT if we get that far, plz.
  7. There has to be a better alternative to "have Brad Miller make a play" when they double team Rose off the pick and roll.
  8. Benny is in "doing 'em like that" mode!
  9. Ahhhh, Salmons just need to just realize when it's not there. Rose also needs to come get the ball when John gets in "I'm shooting this no matter what" mode.
  10. Rose needs to attack this quarter. Not a single free throw attempt and nothing in the paint or in transition. Bulls have adjusted nicely with the other guys but they're gonna need him to create down the stretch.
  11. And yeah, Noah's kind of a tool. But he's our tool. Every good team has to have one. He's the homeless man's version of The Worm.
  12. How do you even reconcile being a Cubs and a Celtics fan anyway? It's unconscionable.
  13. Man, Rondo is really annoying. Great player, even on the gimpy ankle.
  14. Whenever Steph is on the floor a sense of calm comes over me. Eddie House on the other hand scares me a little.
  15. Kirk can't stay on the floor.
  16. Yes, time to dust off the magic wheelchair.
  17. Miller gets that ball near the foul line after they show the pick on Rose and he just fakes himself out. He's too damn slow.
  18. He gets into black hole mode once in awhile and it just looks awful.
  19. Yeah, Noah and Tyrus just need to learn to block it to our own guys. It seemed like on the first half of those blocks they went directly to Celtics players.
  20. Thank god for Lindsey Hunter.
  21. Bulls looked wayyy more nervous for the start of this game than the start of Game 1. They weathered an early storm and are only down by 6. Gordon and Salmons look pretty good. And the Miller haters have to admit, he boxes out much better than Tyrus does. He was getting waxed on the defensive glass.
  22. Yeah. For the first 9 minutes or so the Bulls were doing a horrible job of picking up Rondo before he had a full head of steam. Noah or Ty would block his shot and Baby/Perk would clean up. And as I type this, Tyrus spazzes out on a 2 on nothing fast break.
  23. There's two quick fouls on Rose. Rondo is killing with the pushes in transition. Gotta pick him up sooner.
  24. I do think Perkins was mostly mouthing off but we should expect Thibodeau and the Celtics to throw a different defensive game plan at Rose tonight. It'll be up to him and Vinny to adjust properly. I'm thinking Ben Gordon will need to show up before the last half of the 4th quarter tonight.
  25. Somewhere, Dwight Howard is frowning. I figured somebody would bring that up. The two of them are dead even by most experts opinions. About half choose Howard and half choose Yao. I choose Yao for obvious reasons but you should look at their head-to-head stats. I don't really think it's even all that close. Yao is a better shooter. Leaps and bounds a better shooters. But, what does he do better than Howard outside of jump shots and FTs? Howard has only missed 3 total games in his 5 seasons in the league. Yao has missed 93 in 7 seasons. Howard is much better defensively and pulls down a whole lot more boards. Yao's not just a better shooter...he's a better overall offensive player. Better shooter, better post moves, better passer, etc. Howard is still pretty raw when it comes to establishing himself on the block and carrying an offense that way. In fact, I'm not sure he'll ever be a true #1 option on offense in the mold of Hakeem, Ewing, Robinson, etc. If you've got Howard, you've got to surround him with shooters because you can take him out of the game offensively otherwise. But yeah, I'd still take Howard because of his defense, youth, health, and conditioning (Yao isn't going to ever be a guy that can play 40 minutes consistently).
