  1. I don't know the yankees are getting blown out to open Yankee Stadium... I don't think there's time for any other story. Well they need some other story to feature. What do you think they're going to talk about...the NHL playoffs :-)) ?
  2. The silver lining of Milton getting tossed is that it'lll be replayed on SportsCenter ad nauseum so the public can see how bad the calls were.
  3. If Paul Pierce is an indicator, Kevin Garnett will be ready for tip off of Game 1. Although I don't think KG is the type to fake devastating knee injuries like PP is.
  4. Yeah, but he's got a reputation in the media and amongst many of the fans that isn't all that conducive to him going down as a beloved character. If he's the best pitcher on an eventual world series champion, or maybe just an NL champ, it would really help. As long as he produces I think Z's emotional nature endears him to Cubs fans more than it diminishes his standing. Anecdotally, my mom who knows nothing about baseball and isn't a native speaker thinks it's "cute" when Z stomps around the mound and mutters to himself. And yeah, if Sosa continues to exist where only circumstantial evidence links him to steroids he'll have his number retired--and he should.
  5. Collinsworth to replace him on SNF.
  6. LOL The Bulls have made Shawn Marion millions of dollars tonight. What a horrible, horrible effort.
  7. The worst part about this game is that it's been the veterans who have been absolutely brutal (Ben, Kirk, Miller, Salmons) while Rose, Thomas, and Noah have been pretty good.
  8. This has to be Marion's best game since he's left Phoenix.
  9. It's pretty embarrassing that Shawn freakin' Marion is coming with a better effort than the Bulls given what's on the line.
  10. So the Bulls are down 14 after the first quarter and LeBron is sitting it out tonight against Philly despite Cleveland having a chance to tie the all time regular season home record. Looks like that #6 seed is in jeopardy after all.
  11. I'd like to hear that story.
  12. I could live with that. Blair isn't going to remind anyone of Kevin McHale but he'll be a demon on the glass. Young is a guy who could be an effective two way player if he improves his 3 point shot.
  13. Timmy boy would've won for 4 Heisman's if not for Chris Leak's arrogant refusal to give up his starting job and the voter's sympathizing with Sam Bradford's Native American background.
  14. No that's Ron Powlus. whatever, they both suck For what it's worth Powlus was pretty good in college, I think. He was awful in the NFL, though. Not 4 Heisman's good.
  15. Wakefield no-no through 7. He hasn't issued any walks either but Boston has an error.
  16. That's about as quick a snuffing out of a rally as you'll ever see.
  17. That was more than a few years ago..I want to say 1999 Yep... http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN199905050.shtml Speaking of weird pitching lines, check out Pedro Astacio in that game.
  18. What was the question? The 1996 Rockies had Burks, Castilla, and Galarraga hit 40+ bombs.
  19. Didn't the Rockies have a game a few years ago in Wrigley where they scored in every inning?
  20. 3.0 IP, 4 ER, 5 H, 4 BB, 8 K is one of the more bizarre pitching lines you're going to see.
  21. You can't take a guy out while he's on pace to set the single game strikeout record.
  22. That Atkins 14 pitch at bat seemed to set that inning up.
  23. How's Harden's velocity? I'm assuming pretty good from the results thus far.
  24. Wasn't he strictly a drop back guy in high school? I suppose if he can play guard in big time college hoops he might be mobile enough to run Dick Rod's spread.
  25. Do you think this is the worst of the playoff teams the Bulls have had since the Jordan years? Hard to say. The East was much weaker in the years the Bulls have made the playoffs and I think this team is peaking (relative to its talent level/experience) at the end of the regular season. I'd probably put the 04-05 team as the weakest even though it had the best seed.
