  1. If Johnson is Ryan Gomes I'll be pretty disappointed in that pick even at #16. Admittedly, I don't know a whole lot about Gomes but he's just another guy it seems like. Is he a difference maker?
  2. Heh, I'm not one to buy into the whole team chemistry concept but Milton Bradley is a guy that makes you rethink that position.
  3. Actually (on the air) he's taking it quite well Complete silence is Hawk in an apoplectic rage.
  4. impressive. tracy smith, aleks maric, sean may. kind of makes you wonder why he went where he did, eh? And look at how far he is from all of them by percentage. Then look at where any of those guys are in defensive rebound percentage. They had another article that showed him as the best overall rebounder in college history. Rebounding is one of the highest translated stats from NCAA to NBA. we'll see how he does. i'm betting he does just as well as any other undersized power forward who physically dominated college players. That's pretty dumb. The spectrum of undersized power forwards ranges from training camp fodder to all time NBA greats.
  5. I like how DX and NBAdraft.net crap out on the biggest days of the year for them.
  6. I can say that I've seen Gibson play more than any other player in this draft. Pros: Shot blocking, decent traditional post up game, can knock down the face up jumper, and he'll mix it up down low. Cons: Lacks strength and is definitely a hard gainer. He was a beanpole coming into SC and he didn't put much muscle on. I doubt he'll be able to establish position in the pros. I think he has a shot at being in a rotation but shot blocking is the only skill he has that you would consider in the very good to elite category of the draft. My issue is that shot blocking wasn't a problem for this team, it was beef and defensive rebounding.
  7. lol, who thought we just got Thabo back?
  8. I could live with Ellington here too.
  9. Blair's knee must be scaring a ton of teams off. Wouldn't be surprised if Young went ahead of him at this point.
  10. OKC's gotta be ecstatic Blair's available though right?
  11. Oh man I would be beside myself if Blair was available at 26.
  12. Also, anyone notice that Johnson weighed in at 257? Everything I read prior said he was in the 235 range. That beef (hopefully it's not a gut) does change my perception of him a bit. We need a banger down low who's more interested in rebounding and position defense rather than spectacular shot blocking.
  13. Why is it weird? Mullens doesn't have any identifiable NBA skills besides height and despite that height, he's a terrible rebounder. Guys like Mullens flop all the time in the NBA. Guys like Blair succeed a lot more often. If you're a demon on the glass in college there's a good chance it'll translate to the pros.
  14. Anyone but Mullens I can live with.
  15. Hmm, Holiday is falling. The Bulls could use a guy like him maybe. I want Blair though.
  16. That's a lot of tweener crap for Amare.
  17. Golden State continuing their philosophy of acquiring players who have no actual position.
  18. I was just thinking. Ed McMahon, Farah Fawcett, Michael Jackson are all dead. Shaq and VC are traded on the same day as the NBA Draft. Bill Simmons is going to die next from his head exploding due to NBA and pop culture overload.
  19. I don't believe it until TMZ reports it.
  20. Are statistics kept for how many times batters foul a pitcher off (per PA preferably). Harden's gotta be near the top.
  21. Howard and Onyewu were unbelievable.
  22. So is Glover going to rise up and be a top flight player like Ogilvy or is he the next Michael Campbell?
