  1. What bar is that, BigbadB? It's difficult to get a table in San Diego in a decent bar when the Bears play a late game parallel to the Chargers unless you show up for the early games (blech).
  2. He's not a good fit for the offense USC likes to run. He's better suited in a spread option game where he can make lots of short throws and use his wheels. I have my suspicions that USC is hamstringing itself offensively by running such a traditional pro style offense but I doubt it's going anywhere anytime soon so you've gotta go with Barkley. Corp might have beat Barkley in camp but he sure as hell hasn't beaten him on the field. Even if they eeked out a win that was obvious.
  3. A healthy Corp already beat a healthy Barkely for the starting job earlier this year. But since then, it appears Carroll has fallen in love with Barkely and wants to dick around Corp. That's a stretch. There isn't a USC fan on the planet who wants Corp to start over Barkley now. Is Neuheisel dicking around Craft because he started Prince over him? Or is it that Craft really, really blows and no sane person would start him if they had other options? Craft knew he was starting over Brehaut by Thursday (and Craft lost the starting job to Prince in competition). Corp didn't know he was starting when he took the field on Saturday even though Barkely couldn't throw warm ups. I agree that was a dumb move on the coaching staff's part (among many other problems I had with the way that game was handled). But Corp is not being dicked around if he's no longer the starter moving forward. He probably should've been yanked sometime in the 2nd half. I'm not going to place all the blame on him, even though he's basically persona non grata on campus, because the game plan and playcalling was pretty awful but now is the time to roll the dice with Barkley and see where you are heading into Cal, ND, Oregon, etc. I wish Carroll had done the same thing with Sanchez and Booty when it became apparent Booty wasn't going to live up to the hype.

  5. I think Clausen's a better prospect than Snead whenever he comes out. He throws a much better ball than him, IMO.
  6. Simmons is 23-7 against the spread so far this season.
  7. I would kill to have the Giants offensive line on the Bears.
  8. http://cdn.ksk.uproxx.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/nightmarelard.jpg
  9. GWB couldn't even get on live.
  10. I especially liked Legadu Nanee dancing around like a [expletive] and forgetting to pick up the first down.
  11. I'm still concerned about the receivers. We need a big, strong guy that can catch the ball in traffic (other than Olsen).
  12. lol Rivers
  13. If we had done that against Matt Ryan last year we would've been in the playoffs. Good job not squibbing it, Lovie.
  14. Welcome to the 2009 season, Greg.
  15. It's not college If your knee hits the ground you're down, no? Um, no. OH YEAH! WIDE LEFT! So what's the point of a QB taking a knee if it doesn't mark the player down? I've always wondered about this. I'm guessing there are exceptions in the rule book that make taking a knee means you're down and spiking the ball not intentional grounding.
  16. There are 4 really good coaches available after the season, but I doubt we'll see any of them, as the Bears prolly persue on unknown assistant. Lovie's not going anywhere unless this season is a total disaster.
  17. It's pretty sad when you can say "Looks like Norv is the one with the coaching talent in this family!" and not be joking.
  18. It's pretty frustrating that we get Cutler and still have to rely on smoke and mirrors BS to win a game.
  19. Cutler's 16/26 for 134 and 1 TD is Ortonesque (on a good day).
  20. I don't know if this is kosher but does anyone have a decent stream?
  21. Baltimore's defense doesn't appear to be very good any more. I guess they miss Rex Ryan. San Diego is putting up loads of yards/points on them. Good for them that their offense is humming though.
  22. Echoing the Benglas not being that bad sentiment. They were playing good D and running the ball with some authority in the 2nd half of last year. Now that they've got Palmer back they can do some damage.
