  1. Is it beyond the pale to suggest sulley off himself for the greater good of Chicago fans?
  2. He's been living with that wildly effective label for that split second in 08 when he was wildly effective. His stuff isn't good. It just sucks and he can't locate it anyway.
  3. Not that I'm trying to be a douche or anything because I'm a Fukudome fan, but he starts out hot every year. I know. But he's a bad fastball hitter (for a corner outfielder especially) and if he could just drive more meatballs he'd exploit his plate discipline more. I guess last year was a bit of an improvement because he started hitting more doubles.
  4. Fook looks locked in. If he's just able to drive the occasional fastball and he should be able to OBP around .400
  5. Probably. Starting Z on Opening Day seems like one of those things you wouldn't do, knowing his mentality, if you didn't have to consider his feelings moving forward and the media jackals jumping all over it.
  6. I'm not mad that we're going to lose, I'm mad that I've been looking forward to this in weeks and the game is out of hand in the first half hour and now the most entertaining thing is to watch all the hysterical sniping in this thread.
  7. Bloops, sorry for the delay. I'll take Gerald McCoy.
  8. i don't think it will be a big deal... most of us have already come to the conclusion that our window to win a championship has closed, mcnabb is getting older and more immobile, and getting a decent return for him and moving forward with kolb as the starter is the best thing at this point. Last years team was the best Eagles team of the McNabb era outside of the one good TO year, IMO. McNabb's very good but without a running game to lean on he leaves a few too many plays on the field for them to be Super Bowl favorites.
  9. Toronto steals the ball while the Warriors try to inbound it and Bosh blows the game winning layup at the buzzer. He must really want to play for Chicago.
  10. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5054384 Scottie's in on the first ballot. Well deserved. Sadly The Worm will never get in even though he richly deserves it, IMO. Maybe in a few years after he ODs while banging some hookers in Vegas he'll be enshrined out of sympathy.
  11. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/basketball/ncaa/mens-tournament/04/04/final.four.ratings.ap/index.html I'm surprised the TV ratings were strong.
  12. When someone makes fun of OU they're butt hurt whiners but when imb smacks talk you it's because it's fresh and inventive. just fyi
  13. Noah running the floor like a PG and throwing oops to Rose
  14. Bulls are playing against the Wiz and a loss would effectively end the season...if anyone cares. Also, apparently Shaun Livingston is back in the league.
  15. I don't think giving up a first rounder for a top 3 (maybe the best) receiver in the league that is 26 years old is any sort of exorbitant price.
  16. My favorite part about this is that the NCAA can pretty much arbitrarily expand from 65 to 96 when almost zero percent of the fan base was actively calling for it and then they'll talk about the logistical difficulties in instituting an 8 team football playoff.
  17. In a heartbeat.
  18. Maybe he deserves some credit for duping the general public into thinking Jerome Moiso and Dan Gadzuric were lottery picks.
  19. We need some sort of catch-all thread where Nuts&Gum can get bent out of shape about something completely innocuous.
  20. There was this Joe Montana fellow that turned out decent.
  21. And the number of ADs, university presidents, alumni, students, and fans that would take Lavin over Howland as the coach of its basketball team is still 0.
  22. I didn't follow UCLA that closely but he either had to have been a good recruiter or slightly better coach than he gets credit for. I know it's UCLA but still he wasn't that bad. And yeah it sucks to not have him doing Big Ten games. His recruiting was great early on (had the #1 class in...I want to say 1998) but it tailed off big time as the program continued to stall out in the Sweet 16 and you got further and further away from the 1995 national championship. He couldn't coach if his life depended on it. Getting to the Sweet 16 all the time isn't necessarily something to sneeze at. I figured Lavin was a better tourney coach than a regular season coach. Weren't some of those Sweet 16 "runs" pretty surprising at the time?
  23. He should be available later if Angelo wants to make an obligatory Abilene Christian pick. BTW, Washington was the dude who admitted to having consensual sex with his biological sister in interviews with teams.
