  1. Anyone think Wade and Bosh and whatever the f rest the Heat will have is enough to compete? I guess they'd have some money left over but if you fill it in with just role type players you can see why they would be intrigued about teaming up on the Bulls.
  2. Lebron counters with "I'm going to Chicago with Boozer/Lee/Amare and whatever Deng nets."
  3. Rose is the huge draw for free agents right now. No sign and trade deal is going to involve Rose. I suppose that's true. If you have to give up Rose then Lebron and Wade might as well hookup in Miami.
  4. If the Bulls want to unload enough cap space to get two maxes outright that would be one way of doing it.
  5. You know, if the Cavs ever agreed to S&T Lebron away a package centered around Derrick Rose would have to be one of those scenarios wouldn't it?
  6. Adande was on ESPN news making it seem like Wade and Bosh was the aim rather than Wade and James. That would suggest James has already made up his mind about going to NJ with another max or staying in Cleveland no?
  7. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/news/story?id=5348670 Chad Ford's take.
  8. You know what, I would not turn down watching a Bulls team with Rose/Wade/James led Bulls team. I tell ya that. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wadelebronbulls072010 And now you have this ^^^ who believe the Bulls not only are pushing for a Wade/James partnership (now, I think both Wade and Bulls are using each other to get what each other wants: Wade-Bosh to Miami, and Bulls-James to Chicago) but apparently the Bulls have a deal in place that could send Deng out of Chicago for a "serviceable center." (< I'm thinking either Okur or Gortat) This crap has gotten real and hot in a NY minute. When i Heard "serviceable center" i got to thinking about guys who have similar contracts - what about Tyson Chandler? Is that a possibility? Shoulda looked it up before I posted. Chandler makes 12.7 this year and will then be FA. Deng makes 11.3 and has 4 years remaining. So..that's probably not it. If we're getting a C back for Deng, would it be logical to assume that Noah would be on his way out too? I hope not, but I'd still do it... No I don't think so. Noah is exactly what you would want in a C on a team like that. Hustles his ass off, rebounds, defends, and you never have to run a play for him.
  9. One of the first things I thought when I read that article was that Derrick Rose immediately becomes the most attractive trade bait in a long, long time.
  10. The difference is, Chicago is a neutral team for both James and Wade. James didn't want to go to Miami to be the 2nd fiddle on WADE'S TEAM". In Chicag they would be in share partnership, a 2010 version of Jordan/Pippen. That's a small difference but maybe meaningful. And no one was ever confused about who the top dog was between MJ and Pip.
  11. They did fine on the dream team. That's 2 weeks not 5 years. Even Jordan deferred to Barkley on the original dream team but I don't think anyone would've expected that to last if they were on the same team. I've gotta at least be consistent with my reasoning. If James won't go to Miami to not be a clear #1 over Wade he won't do it in Chicago. And if this is Wade just angling and getting information well then [expletive] him. Pretty slick though.
  12. I'm just going to assume this Wade/James thing is the flavor of the day rumor just like the Stephen A. Smith was.
  13. Well as long as I'm entertaining a James/Rose/Wade pipe dream I would imagine you're looking ot move Deng for a sharp shooting big.
  14. Having Rose, Wade, and Lebron is actually reaching the point of diminishing returns. I'd rather have Wade and Bosh than Wade and Lebron (well, maybe). I'd definitely rather have Lebron and Bosh.
  15. I don't know what to make of the Wade stuff at all. Seems weird.
  16. Imagine if goaltending just got you free throws instead of the basket. On a last-second play, up by three, you could just have your big guy stick his hand up through the basket. That would let missed shots still miss, knock out shots going in, and force them to make three free throws instead. That would be comparable to what happened here. Of course the chance to take a PK is worth far more in soccer than any individual field goal in basketball is.
  17. Football does have situations where the referee awards points when the other team does something blatantly illegal to prevent an obvious score. If a player goaltends a field goal, for instance. Actually, I think the NFL rules not only provide specific directions like that, they give the referee blanket powers to award points in any situation he feels that it is necessary to restore the fairness of the game. Blatantly illegal things are punished on the field. Cheating is somehow going around the parameters of the game to give yourself an advantage. And if someone is able to goaltend a field goal I'd say that's pretty cool and they should not give points just for the sake of novelty. Uruguay didn't do anything any other team wouldn't have done in the same situation. It's fair, IMO.
  18. It's a red card and a PK. It's a big enough advantage. It still encourages players to blatantly cheat in situations like this. How about when a receiver burns a corner on bump and run coverage and is running wide open for a TD and he reaches out and grabs a handful of a jersey? Should we just give the team a TD instead of pass interference? It's not really cheating. It's a desperation tactic. There's nothing wrong with it.
  19. I remember when Manny was a FA for the Indians and Boston signed him. I think ESPN made some documentary about it that was basically centered around making Dan Duquette look like a moron.
  20. Bucher said Bosh was the one with the documentary crew following him around. And I'd watch the hell out of that.
  21. Low 50s for the Bulls. Mid 50s for the Heat. The Bulls really need to get a shooter if it's a guy like Boozer and no other stud--hell they need one no matter who they sign. The Heat need to get more front court pieces so they're not murdered in the paint.
  22. Worm: I guess the sayings' true. In the poker game of life, women are the rake man. They are the fuckin' rake. Mike McDermott: What the [expletive] are you talkin' about. What saying? Worm: I-I don't know. There ought to be one though.
  23. I can fathom star players taking up to maybe a million less to play with another set of superstars. At some point you're going to incur the wrath of the players union though.
  24. Jeff Green is a 4.
