  1. Devin Harris is so overrated. Look at his career numbers. He's had one all-star caliber season and he can't stay healthy. He's not on the same planet as Rose. Lopez is nice, I'll give you that. And if it wasn't that far apart they wouldn't have gone 12-70. That speaks volumes.
  2. I was being facetious about 42-40. If they signed only Lebron I'm sure they'd be better than that. They're going to get better just organically anyway. Still, if Lebron wants to get in that Jordan/Kobe territory he really needs to start winning soon. As far as 25 year old NBA players go, he's pretty old. He's got a lot of mileage and he relies far more on sheer athleticism than almost every player in the NBA. I don't see him leaving for a situation where he's looking at a top 3 seed in the East. That's worse than staying in Cleveland.
  3. So what, Cleveland will be 12-70 next year without LeBron. Dude is seriously probably worth 30 wins on his own easily to a bad team. Less so to a decent team, so unfortunately the Bulls won't win 71 with him. So they'll be 42-40? They have some factors but people tell me Harris/Lopez and then I say 12-70. That's not run of the mill bad...that's among the very worst teams in league history. But yeah, I'm worried about the Jay-Z/Prokhorov thing.
  4. They were 12-70.
  5. That's interesting.
  6. When this free agency season is over I don't think that Rudy Gay contract will look that bad.
  7. How do trade exemptions work?
  8. This Mets game needs to end so we can get more unnecessary coverage.
  9. I don't think those rabid Atlanta Hawks fans are scaring anybody.
  10. Flipping between NBATV and ESPN. Aldridge down playing the Miami super team and everyone thinks James to Chicago. He's also talking about needing a S&T to get Bosh and that Dallas and Houston will be players there.
  11. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67644/20100630/wade_giving_up_on_recruiting_lebron/#ixzz0sOUvn6WX I hate how the wiretap on realgm always puts stories into their own words. That's not what the tweet even said. Woj basically said that didn't he? I guess using the phrase "effectively ends" is presumptuous though.
  12. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67644/20100630/wade_giving_up_on_recruiting_lebron/#ixzz0sOUvn6WX http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67642/20100630/raptors_rule_out_taking_back_deng_for_bosh/#ixzz0sOVRDBV3 I'm not sure Wade not recruiting Lebron any more is great news for us. The only private guarantee Lebron would make at this point would be that's he's resigning in Cleveland--there are too many unknowns (and potential) about the Bulls to say he's definitely coming here. And if Chicago is still in the picture I can't imagine Wade giving up on him.
  13. Is this a joke? Will he even get half that? Wow, great move for the Spurs. They must have pics of him naked ,playing golf with Satan. my first guess would be that they had a sit-down with his ex-fiance and discovered the real reason that they didn't end up getting married. Because he's gay?
  14. I don't think his days are over, but he's certainly going downhill. Losing early at the French is one thing, but losing early at Wimbledon is another. He's not done and I still think he's good enough to win another major or two, but his days of dominating are over. In addition to Nadal, Djokovic, Murray and del Potro are all very good players capable of winning multiple majors. Yeah its starting to look like the normal days of tennis where winning 1 major a year was considered a good year. Federer just doesn't have the same edge that he once had, I wonder if having a kid had anything to do with it. Djokovic hasn't lived up to the expectations I had for him 2 years ago. Hasn't there always been a dominant player in men's tennis for at least the last 30 years?
  15. Well he's definitely behind Rice and Harvin's going to get more and more touches if he can stay healthy. Shiancoe was extremely productive for a TE. Berrian's a 4th receiving option on that team, IMO.
  16. Chad Ford tweeted that the Nets believe they're in the lead for Lebron. Sidebar: I really hope this free agency thing is resolved quickly because I don't want to have to use tweet as a verb.
  17. I dunno about that. Even LeBron, Bosh and (especially) Wade would get tired playing 44 minutes a night. Which veterans are we talking here? I saw a list somewhere of guys that would fit the bill. It was pretty ugly. But really, even good teams have like 7 very viable rotation players that would go well on any team. The Lakers had crappy guys like Vujacic and Farmar playing significant minutes. Shannon Brown came off the scrap heap. It can be done.
  18. They'd fill out the roster with ring chasing veterans willing to take the minimum. It wouldn't be pretty but it wouldn't really have to be.
  19. I'd make do.
  20. It just isn't very Marxist for one guy to hog all those grand slams.
  21. There were some rumblings that Lebron and JJ really wanted to play together. In any case, it takes one more big fish off the board and part of attracting Lebron is being able to pair him up with another star, even if he's overpaid. I don't think Joe Johnson is good enough where he can just turn down an extra guaranteed year at his age.
  22. Woj tweeted that the Hawks offered a 6 year max Birds Right deal to Joe Johnson. It's good in the sense that he's not worth nearly that much but maybe bad in the Lebron sweepstakes.
  23. I think there's something fundamentally wrong with the team that it can do so well in the regular season and flame out in the playoffs. Maybe it's just coaching but I definitely don't think it's just sample size. The Cavaliers were making some history by winning so many games and not even advancing to the Finals. And I wouldn't be breaking news to suggest that it's probably a big factor in his decision making.
