  1. I would say look at how many truly big front lines out there. There aren't a lot. The Lakers, of course. And Deng's a very good rebounder for a 3. I'm sure he would have his struggles at the 4 especially against bigger teams but I don't see him being overmatched all of the time. Rashard Lewis is a 4. Channing Frye is a 5. Josh Smith is a 4. It's not ideal but it can be done.
  2. I don't think there are that many Eastern conference teams that hurt you if you play Deng at the 4. You could always make him a 6th man if you find a decent 2.
  3. Yeah I still don't see the math working out for Bosh by getting rid of Taj/JJ and picks. It's Deng or Noah and if it's Noah I'd rather just keep everybody, sign Boozer or Lee for around 13 million, and get Lebron at the max. Or if Lebron goes elsewhere getting some other pieces with the money. The only way I'd S&T Noah for Bosh is if I knew Lebron was coming.
  4. I still don't know what a "TPE" is. It sounds like something you can fabricate out of thin air to sweeten trade offers. And more importantly, does that deal allow us two max guys?
  5. gwyneth paltrow's head
  6. I think more with Prokhorov in the picture. Maybe $500 million over the life of the contract.
  7. Then again you view every thing through the "my team is best and things will work out exactly the way I want" prism. I think if you and sulley ran into each other the universe would explode.
  8. Phil says he's coming back for one more year.
  9. Plant yourself in Brooklyn or the Bronx for 10 min and you'll think different. I don't know man. I've lived in south central LA for most of the last decade. The way people describe parts of Manhattan and the outer boroughs of NYC made it seem like a war zone. Wasn't it basically a broken society back then?
  10. A slum in 2010 is not the same as a slum in 1970, especially in New York.
  11. And Harris was hurt last year (though he does seem to be hurt often). He was at 21.65 his first year in NJ. Lopez is and will be better than Noah and they have the potential to add Bosh while it looks like the Bulls won't be able to. That's like 1 out of 7 years for Harris.
  12. Rose played off the ball a lot when Hinrich was in the game. Usually the offense consisted of Rose running pick and roll from the top of the key off Miller/Noah or coming off flex action on the baseline. It was not an isolation heavy offense at all although there should've been more of that.
  13. Devin Harris is so overrated. Look at his career numbers. He's had one all-star caliber season and he can't stay healthy. He's not on the same planet as Rose. Lopez is nice, I'll give you that. And if it wasn't that far apart they wouldn't have gone 12-70. That speaks volumes.
  14. I was being facetious about 42-40. If they signed only Lebron I'm sure they'd be better than that. They're going to get better just organically anyway. Still, if Lebron wants to get in that Jordan/Kobe territory he really needs to start winning soon. As far as 25 year old NBA players go, he's pretty old. He's got a lot of mileage and he relies far more on sheer athleticism than almost every player in the NBA. I don't see him leaving for a situation where he's looking at a top 3 seed in the East. That's worse than staying in Cleveland.
  15. So what, Cleveland will be 12-70 next year without LeBron. Dude is seriously probably worth 30 wins on his own easily to a bad team. Less so to a decent team, so unfortunately the Bulls won't win 71 with him. So they'll be 42-40? They have some factors but people tell me Harris/Lopez and then I say 12-70. That's not run of the mill bad...that's among the very worst teams in league history. But yeah, I'm worried about the Jay-Z/Prokhorov thing.
  16. They were 12-70.
  17. That's interesting.
  18. When this free agency season is over I don't think that Rudy Gay contract will look that bad.
  19. How do trade exemptions work?
  20. This Mets game needs to end so we can get more unnecessary coverage.
  21. I don't think those rabid Atlanta Hawks fans are scaring anybody.
  22. Flipping between NBATV and ESPN. Aldridge down playing the Miami super team and everyone thinks James to Chicago. He's also talking about needing a S&T to get Bosh and that Dallas and Houston will be players there.
  23. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67644/20100630/wade_giving_up_on_recruiting_lebron/#ixzz0sOUvn6WX I hate how the wiretap on realgm always puts stories into their own words. That's not what the tweet even said. Woj basically said that didn't he? I guess using the phrase "effectively ends" is presumptuous though.
  24. http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67644/20100630/wade_giving_up_on_recruiting_lebron/#ixzz0sOUvn6WX http://www.realgm.com/src_wiretap_archives/67642/20100630/raptors_rule_out_taking_back_deng_for_bosh/#ixzz0sOVRDBV3 I'm not sure Wade not recruiting Lebron any more is great news for us. The only private guarantee Lebron would make at this point would be that's he's resigning in Cleveland--there are too many unknowns (and potential) about the Bulls to say he's definitely coming here. And if Chicago is still in the picture I can't imagine Wade giving up on him.
