  1. Well as long as I'm entertaining a James/Rose/Wade pipe dream I would imagine you're looking ot move Deng for a sharp shooting big.
  2. Having Rose, Wade, and Lebron is actually reaching the point of diminishing returns. I'd rather have Wade and Bosh than Wade and Lebron (well, maybe). I'd definitely rather have Lebron and Bosh.
  3. I don't know what to make of the Wade stuff at all. Seems weird.
  4. Imagine if goaltending just got you free throws instead of the basket. On a last-second play, up by three, you could just have your big guy stick his hand up through the basket. That would let missed shots still miss, knock out shots going in, and force them to make three free throws instead. That would be comparable to what happened here. Of course the chance to take a PK is worth far more in soccer than any individual field goal in basketball is.
  5. Football does have situations where the referee awards points when the other team does something blatantly illegal to prevent an obvious score. If a player goaltends a field goal, for instance. Actually, I think the NFL rules not only provide specific directions like that, they give the referee blanket powers to award points in any situation he feels that it is necessary to restore the fairness of the game. Blatantly illegal things are punished on the field. Cheating is somehow going around the parameters of the game to give yourself an advantage. And if someone is able to goaltend a field goal I'd say that's pretty cool and they should not give points just for the sake of novelty. Uruguay didn't do anything any other team wouldn't have done in the same situation. It's fair, IMO.
  6. It's a red card and a PK. It's a big enough advantage. It still encourages players to blatantly cheat in situations like this. How about when a receiver burns a corner on bump and run coverage and is running wide open for a TD and he reaches out and grabs a handful of a jersey? Should we just give the team a TD instead of pass interference? It's not really cheating. It's a desperation tactic. There's nothing wrong with it.
  7. I remember when Manny was a FA for the Indians and Boston signed him. I think ESPN made some documentary about it that was basically centered around making Dan Duquette look like a moron.
  8. Bucher said Bosh was the one with the documentary crew following him around. And I'd watch the hell out of that.
  9. Low 50s for the Bulls. Mid 50s for the Heat. The Bulls really need to get a shooter if it's a guy like Boozer and no other stud--hell they need one no matter who they sign. The Heat need to get more front court pieces so they're not murdered in the paint.
  10. Worm: I guess the sayings' true. In the poker game of life, women are the rake man. They are the fuckin' rake. Mike McDermott: What the [expletive] are you talkin' about. What saying? Worm: I-I don't know. There ought to be one though.
  11. I can fathom star players taking up to maybe a million less to play with another set of superstars. At some point you're going to incur the wrath of the players union though.
  12. Jeff Green is a 4.
  13. I would say look at how many truly big front lines out there. There aren't a lot. The Lakers, of course. And Deng's a very good rebounder for a 3. I'm sure he would have his struggles at the 4 especially against bigger teams but I don't see him being overmatched all of the time. Rashard Lewis is a 4. Channing Frye is a 5. Josh Smith is a 4. It's not ideal but it can be done.
  14. I don't think there are that many Eastern conference teams that hurt you if you play Deng at the 4. You could always make him a 6th man if you find a decent 2.
  15. Yeah I still don't see the math working out for Bosh by getting rid of Taj/JJ and picks. It's Deng or Noah and if it's Noah I'd rather just keep everybody, sign Boozer or Lee for around 13 million, and get Lebron at the max. Or if Lebron goes elsewhere getting some other pieces with the money. The only way I'd S&T Noah for Bosh is if I knew Lebron was coming.
  16. I still don't know what a "TPE" is. It sounds like something you can fabricate out of thin air to sweeten trade offers. And more importantly, does that deal allow us two max guys?
  17. gwyneth paltrow's head
  18. I think more with Prokhorov in the picture. Maybe $500 million over the life of the contract.
  19. Then again you view every thing through the "my team is best and things will work out exactly the way I want" prism. I think if you and sulley ran into each other the universe would explode.
  20. Phil says he's coming back for one more year.
  21. Plant yourself in Brooklyn or the Bronx for 10 min and you'll think different. I don't know man. I've lived in south central LA for most of the last decade. The way people describe parts of Manhattan and the outer boroughs of NYC made it seem like a war zone. Wasn't it basically a broken society back then?
  22. A slum in 2010 is not the same as a slum in 1970, especially in New York.
  23. And Harris was hurt last year (though he does seem to be hurt often). He was at 21.65 his first year in NJ. Lopez is and will be better than Noah and they have the potential to add Bosh while it looks like the Bulls won't be able to. That's like 1 out of 7 years for Harris.
  24. Rose played off the ball a lot when Hinrich was in the game. Usually the offense consisted of Rose running pick and roll from the top of the key off Miller/Noah or coming off flex action on the baseline. It was not an isolation heavy offense at all although there should've been more of that.
