i think still think we need to show caleb keep the ball on some of those shotgun handoffs to keep the defense honest. should've done it down by the goal line
i don't think we've called a single PA or boot where 1 or more unblocked defenders weren't immediately crashing down on the QB. there haven't been a ton because we can't sustain drives but every single one has gotten blown up i think.
and there are not many QBs i'd take over caleb to trust to beat 1 unblocked defender on a PA or boot but the fact that they're crashing down so hard leads me to believe we just aren't fooling anyone at all
I think Poles thinks continuity and scheme familiarity is more important at OL than WR or edge
And he might be right about that, Jenkins and Wright have been brutal so far but they’re capable of a lot more than they have shown
this is an apocalyptically bad number of pressures to give up, an nfl defense averages between 10-15 pressures a game depending on tempo and run/pass mix mainly
well demeco ryan defenses are always going to be near the bottom of the league in blitz rate but they’re blitzing like a Brian Flores team tonight so I’m forced to conclude that Waldron’s game plan is getting spanked
2.8 yards per play in game 1, 3.3 so far this game, 4 delay of games in less than 6 quarters—NFL average is one DOG every three games or so
the operation is a mess
I could’ve sworn Fairbairn was a Cody Parkey type not long ago who was a fringe starting kicker and bounced around a lot but he’s apparently the greatest kicker ever
