  1. That's it? In no order for me..... Lake, Olt, Rondon, Vizcaino, Arrieta, Castillo, Rizzo, Castro, Sweeney with hopes of seeing Hendricks, Javy, KB, and Alcantara in the majors at some point. Sweeney? In a Schierholtz kind of way from last year. I could see him giving us league average production. At his salary, it'd be a nice bargain anyway.
  2. McCown has faced the 22nd, 21st, 17th, 9th, 19th, 31st, and 32nd ranked overall defenses. The passing defense numbers are 27th, 21st, 25th, 14th, 22nd, 30th, and 32nd. Cutler faced 8, 31, 12, 17, 6, 10, 22, and 17 in overall. In passing, it's 8, 30, 7, 25, 3, 15, 27, and 25. Overlap with the Redskins game, but McCown has faced 1 out 7 teams that have a top half of the league defense, either overall or passing. Cutler is 4-8 in facing top half overall D's, with 2 more against number 17. 4-8 in top half against the pass as well. I think we need to franchise Jay and drop an early(top 3 round) pick on a QB in the draft. While I think it's very likely Trestman's offense will lend success to many, in no way would I be comfortable letting Jay go and handing it over to McCown.
  3. ABTY just tweeted Cubs, Royals talking Collins, Crow. Royals prefer moving Hochevar. Crow interests Cubs the most.
  4. Castillo gives us a 4 WAR season, highest on the team.

  6. I'll admit to looking forward to seeing Junior get a full season's worth of ML AB's. I'm honestly thinking we'll see him put up a 3 WAR+ season, even with a high K rate.
  7. Pretty sure he led the league in hitting too.
  8. While Arizona may have been mentioned more than just about anyone else, in regards to Shark, a deal headlined by Skaggs has never been all that exciting. In fact, if Delgado wasn't included as well, I wouldn't be very happy with a deal with them at all. Because Towers has been very adamant that Bradley is going no where.
  9. Jeff Samardzija and Jorge Soler for Lee, Hamels and Dom Brown. Cubs take on all of the salary. Who says no first? Does Tom Ricketts declaring bankruptcy and jumping off a bridge count as a no?
  10. Getting Lee for nothing more than salary relief should be a no-brainer for just about any team. Well sure, but just because the Phils aren't going to pay any salary, that doesn't mean they're willing to let him go freely either. My guess is they're still looking for a good package as well. As great as Lee is though, he's owed 2/62.5 on his deal or 3/77.5. Honestly, there just aren't that many teams that can add that contract and still make the other moves they already had or are planning to.
  11. Phils evidently have Lee and Hamels on the market, but aren't willing to pay any money, so they have a very small group of teams they're able to deal with, I guess.
  12. A Joel Sherman account tweeted Dom Brown for Quintana and Phils were on verge of signing Nelson Cruz. Showed up on my timeline when CespedesFamilyBBQ retweeted it, an hour after it had been posted, yet no follow up from anyone else.
  13. NM, [expletive] fake accounts getting retweeted by people that should know better.
  14. Good God, he's unreal. I can't quit smiling. Emery gets a [expletive] A+ for last years draft just for him.
  15. Granted, not as exciting, but I think Vogelbach and Villanueva are the two most likely to be dealt, out of our prospects.
  16. D-Backs are in on Choo, they're either signing a pitcher and trading for a bat or signing an OFer and trading for a pitcher. At any rate, it would appear their trade pieces are Skaggs and/or Delgado and one of Eaton or Pollock as the main pieces.
  17. The Nats just signed McLouth, Hairston is their 5th OFer. No way Schierholtz is on their radar.
  18. Hoyer spoke to the media, spending more time on bullpen than last year. Would trade good prospect to get right longterm player. Signing Tanaka doesn't affect their plans with Shark. Not an either/or deal.
  19. I'm all about maximizing returns. But I have to think we can find a deal right now that would make us happy enough. Too much can happen, if we're going to trade him, I wish we'd just do it now.
  20. Levine mentioned this weekend he expects our payroll to be around 100 mill. If that's the case, SOMETHING has to happen anyway.
  21. Want nothing to do with Yanks, but I like Sims from Atlanta enough to where I could talk myself into an Atlanta deal being OK, I think.
  22. that's not the point so... Who does Anderson have this way higher value to than us? Toronto possibly. Maybe Cleveland. Braves? Phils? Pirates? Pads? Rockies? Any of those teams could see upside with him and since each at least are attempting to contend, would likely be willing to give up more than a guy that there was legit talk about us non-tendering him. Again, it's about fit. Barney makes sense for them how? He doesn't, unless Callaspo is getting moved anyway.
  23. I don't think the price on Anderson will be very high, but I do think it's higher than Barney. Maybe even higher than Schierholtz. He's still young and as a lefty, my guess is he still has some cache. One of the BP guys thought Vogelbach and a lower level guy sounded about right. I don't know if it's quite that high, but I think it's closer to that than Barney. At any rate, I can see Oakland getting an actual need filled in a deal for him. Although, looking at how their major league team sits currently, I'm not sure what they're even looking for. They need a frontline SP, but thats not happening in a deal for Anderson obviously. They've got Doolittle and Blevins as LHRP, maybe they'd take Russell for him? Maybe Villanueva? I'd really try and expand it to get Reddick too. Maybe Anderson and Reddick for Villanueva/Schierholtz/Vogelbach?
  24. They've got Lowrie, Callaspo, and Punto for 2B and SS currently. Unless Callaspo is also dealt, I see no reason for them wanting or needing Barney.
  25. The more I look at Gausman, the more I want us to deal for him. I think I'd even be down for a straight up one for one with Shark, as Bowden suggested. If we can somehow get Gausman and Rodriguez for Shark and Schierholtz, I'll be very happy.
