Agents will find ways to change things up. Just as Boras took out a huge insurance policy on Scherzer, other agents will start doing the same, in my opinion, much earlier on players. At which point, the early, team friendly long term first contracts will slow down and more of these guys hit FA between 27-30 instead of 31-33 again. The money is there to be spent in MLB, it's up to the agents and the players union to maximize how it gets back to the players. And if the older players start seeing less money because they gave a team a friendly deal that bought out a few FA years-they'll find ways to change it up.
