  1. I'll start. Moncada. Now it's someone else's turn. That'd be it for me.
  2. I don't necessarily think it'll take a ton for them to stay sharp. But half does admittedly seem like a lot. I'd probably err on the lower end of my 20-30 starts thing. Because that'd put it closer to 1/3 of the starts, than half. The fact he'll have a few months of working with those 2 will help tremendously, even if he does NOT play as much as I'm thinking. On a side note, I truly hope we keep Ross in some capacity next year.
  3. You expect him to start as many as half the games in the last two months? Yeah, as long as we're not truly playing for division/home field. Doesn't even mean he plays the whole games either. But Montero/Ross don't need the reps, and they'd still be able to get enough time to stay sharp. And healthy. Its a luxury for us, but we'll likely be able to afford it, in my opinion.
  4. I fully expect him to get 20-30 big league starts in August/September this year, when we've got little to play for. Give him plenty of time to learn from Montero/Ross, while playing.
  5. I think he'll be 3 at mid season and 2 at year end. I think Torres is 2 at mid season, but will be dealt by the deadline. I don't think Contreras loses his prospect eligibility this year, so he stays 1 on both lists, as I don't see him getting dealt either.
  6. No one has offense, we've got it growing out our asses. Yet we've also got the best staff in MLB. God, teams have to horsefeathering hate us.
  7. As a general rule, I don't have anything against the White Sox. Hawk is the worst, they've had some annoying players at times.....But they typically don't grab my attention. But its bugged the horsefeathers out of me THIS year. Their fans attempting to compare that team to our horsefeathering juggernaut? Its been nauseating to read or even see headlines for. They're screwed. They can't rebuild, their attendance would suffer too much. I don't think Hahn is talented enough to piece together a truly good organization, given the circumstances. Trade us Sale though, it may legitimately be one of the best options you've got to actually build a contender.
  8. DiCaro mentioned Eovaldi as a guy we're interested in. He's always intrigued me and I'd like to see what Bosio could do with him.
  9. Hoyer is quoted in an article from late last night that we're not likely to be in the market for hitting. But we're always looking for pitching...... I just saw a quote out of Atlanta that said if they deal Teheran, they're going to want young, major league hitting in return. They're not looking for prospects.......At this time last year, I think we wanted more than just him for Soler......I'm wondering if the roles have reversed now, and if so, by how much? Plus, who plays LF for us, if we make a move like that? KB mostly? With Javy and TLS getting the full reps at 3B. Or does Scissors fit into the picture more than I'd think? Almora maybe? Lots of options, I guess. But if we've got a healthy rotation at the end ofJuly, do we just grab a good pen arm and try to find depth in August?
  10. Is the picture of Ryan giving him a noogie in the HOF?
  11. Hawk was clamoring for an infielder to be positioned behind the catcher during an intentional walk.
  12. Why? They're a half game up on the Yankees. Both are in the final year of their deal. I can see Toronto selling just as easily as I can the Yanks.
  13. If we're going to go after an old OF that's relatively horrible defensively, give me Bautista all day.
  14. I want to see a buddy cop film starring Lilly and Zobrist.
  15. I think we'll do our best to get Matusz honestly. If they straighten him out, it saves us the prospects heading towards a reliever, that can be used to address something else.
  16. He's definitely got a back end of the rotation profile. But he pitches to weak contact and is very fluid in his delivery. His velo typically picks up as the season goes on to the point where he's likely going to be working 91-92, with movement, in July. He's got a nice CB and is considered a very smart pitcher. He's not got much of a ceiling, but I'd say he's a pretty solid bet to be more than a cup of coffee type of major leaguer. I was more excited about PJ AND Underwood at the time of the draft, but I'd probably lay money on him to be the one out of those 3 that makes the most money in the majors over their careers.
  17. We almost signed him, for those that don't know......The Dodgers were looking at Puig and he was at the complex, while they were looking at Puig. It was a private workout and the Dodgers threw out close to 2 mill to sign him and a few other Mexican League guys to grab him from us. Mainly due to packaging guys his trainer wanted signed that we knew nothing about. It happened before we got a chance to counter. And as a Mexican League player, he only got 20% of the bonus that was set for him. Its hard to knock what we've done in IFA, but holy horsefeathers......If we had gotten him......
  18. I'm jiggy with Will Smith if Miller doesn't wind up a Cub.
  19. I can't wait until 2-3 years from now when the 2nd wave comes up and the fans of other teams are like "wtf how is this still happening! Make it stop!" The second wave is now. Contreras/Almora/Edwards would be pretty exciting to quite a few teams.
  20. horsefeathers, that's the first run Concepción has given up in a long time. And yeah, Edwards is ready. Its possible he'd eliminate our need for any pen help, even if he's not a lefty. What's Concepción's velo doing? I guess its not out of the realm he could fill the lefty role too.....
